Never fails...

Just about every day I'm (quite eagerly) one of the usual "drivers" for our lunch runs. Today, for the first time in awhile, I ended up just riding in a friend's car to lunch because our party was small enough that a single 5 person vehicle would do. Of course, on our way to lunch, I saw 5 MINIs (including two brand new DS MCSes)...it seems like on the rare occasions when I'm riding with friends, I see the most MINIs...it's like a bizarre curse/coincidence. I rarely see any MINIs around where I'm at, so to see 5 in the short drive to lunch is almost "Twilight Zone" territory... Perhaps the commanding view from his truck just made MINI spotting a little easier. I first noticed the phenomenon when riding in a friend's car once a few months ago. During that day we ended up next to two MCSes that were identical to mine (DS/DS, S-lites)...also pretty unheard of, especially back then. One of those sightings was especially funny since my car was literally just around the corner (we had just left his place).

...go figure. Although at least I didn't have to worry about the usual question of whether to wave or not to wave. I suppose the other bonus is that with more MINIs around, I'll (hopefully) stop getting stared at so much.

SHHHHHHHH.... Don't anyone tell GTmini that I wait for him to leave his car & then take it out for rides... Keeps the mileage down on my LY/B MC, and has the added benefit of letting me drive an MCS when I really get to jonesing for some speed.

...and here I thought all that excessive mileage was all my own doing
