Offline | Strange L/100kms readout Hi, Since purchasing my MCS /w in the beginning of June 03, I have been receiving strange readings on my L/100kms readout. I have done a search for similar problems, but have come up empty (any links would be appreciated). My main problem is when I am stationary and the car is idling, the L/100kms increases - effectively saying that I am using more fuel. This is the same whether aircon is on or off. Once I move off and travel at a steady speed, the L/100kms reading drops to a normal level. This seems to affect the overall reading for that tank, if I have been sitting still for a few minutes. Has anyone else experienced the same problem or is my readout faulty? Any help appreciated Dutchy. Sadly INIMINI is gone, but never forgotten. |

| MINI2 Regular | Off Read out Let us say as an example - You start the car the reading is at zero L / 100 Km as you Idle you are *going No where* but the car is ideling in place "Using Fuel" So you are NOT moving so the L/100Km increses... You drive 1 Km and a VERY slow pace ( IE: put it into 5th ( 6th ) as soon as you can.... the L/100Km gos to 6L/100Km You stop to let you passenger pick up *something* in a store. as you stop and idle the fuel used since you started continues to increase and the total distanced traveled / Fuel used get Worse ! Offline | Exactly, Of course it is worse with a new tank of fuel, but it is also more noticeable. It can go from (say) 6L/100kms to 7.5L/100kms over a five minute period (on a new tank of fuel). Normally I'm not stationary for that amount of time, but it does happen. Dutchy. Sadly INIMINI is gone, but never forgotten. |
