Obviously, you didn't catch the fine print in the same post. In a larger font: "I actually like red and silver too, just trying to make a point."

I don't understand why gold isn't able to play in our reindeer games. No one is entitled to like it and everyone has their opinions. For me, its on a MINI, and thats good enough. I imagine some vistors on this forum have optioned the gold. Why posters feel the need to trash other rides is beyond me. We all chosed MINI didn't we?

Personally, I recall reading a magizine article that pictured a gold original next to a gold/gold MINI prior to US release. I thought it looked sharp. I've seen the SG in person and still say it looks sharp. Had gold been available when I ordered, I may have optioned it.

SG/SG with white stripes. Mmmmm... that would look good.

Now we are going to have problems with our abbreviations since Silk Green is SG, and Solid Gold is SG. Another reason to just give up on Gold

As long as MINI doesn't bring back Silk green I'll be happy (I totally enjoy not having 10 of the same color as mine at a meet).

Now what I don't understand is why did MINI feel the need to add yet another blue? Wasn't two shades enough? Velvet red was a good concept but I thinkl it turned out too brown. I wish they would have fine tune the color cause a darker red then chili red would do well methinks.

I actually go through phases of wanting evry colour in the range. All the colour options appeal to me in different ways.
Mini should give us more choice though. I realise the plant is limited to 12 colours but they could change the range a bit.
How about these suggestions
1. Electric blue across the range.
2. Loose Cosmos black and replace it with a different colour.
3. Make it possible to special order any model in any colour in the range for a small fee. Or do what Audi do on some models and enable customers to order any colour from the entire range (BMW) of colours for a small price increase. This would increase interest and individuality which Mini seems to be for.

The last time I checked, Audi were charging £1500 for a custom colour which may be a lot of money but for someone like myself who isn't truly happy with any of the current colours and really wants a MINI it may be a price worth paying, and part of this cost is probably due to transporting the body shell to and from a separate unit for spraying. Having said that, I suspect that the price of a professional custom colour repaint isn't that much more expensive...

Another alternative may be to have one colour that changes every three months on a seasonal basis; if you dislike the current range you only have to wait three months or less for a different colour to become available. I suspect that one of the blacks will be withdrawn soon but won't be replaced (as with Velvet Red) in order to make way for the second cabriolet colour, and it's a shame that the non-metallic blue will be a cabriolet exclusive colour - why can't there be only one exclusive colour for each major variant?

Nice one Shoppie. I often wondered what Gold would look like with some stripes.

It always amazes me when people make comments concerning other people's colour choices, spec etc. Who's paying for the car?
