Offline | Delivery times (UK) Guys, I have been told by my dealer (Hexagon E. Finchley) that delivery of a new Cooper takes about 2 months between placing the order and receiving the car. Does this sound about right? Also, as each dealer receives and allocation, is there any point in trying to search for a big dealer hoping they get allocated more cars? I have thought about buying from Park Lane in Mayfair as it seems quite a big dealer. Anyone have experience with P Lane? Thanks in advance, Riccardo Riccardo 12/02 Cooper Indi Blue/White |

Offline | 2mths seems pretty good to me ![]() I would however still try all other local dealerships regardless of their size ![]() Park Lane should give you excellent service as they are the only direct BMW/MINI dealer. All the others are franchised. MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those............. It's now TTime ![]() ![]() Unofficial MINI2.com bean counter |

Offline | Martin, Thanks for the quick response. I just phoned Park Lane and they did seem quite speedy, he said it would be about 6 weeks, though he did insist they are the quickest for delivery in the UK because, as you point out, they're owned directly by BMW. A few years ago I went to look at a BMW also in P Lane and was impressed with their pre-sales service. I hope its just as good in the post-sales! Riccardo Riccardo 12/02 Cooper Indi Blue/White |

Offline | Snuffy, was that from Park Lane, or your local dealer? When did you place the order? Another question, is the £1k deposit refundable in case I change my mind? Riccardo 12/02 Cooper Indi Blue/White |

Offline | When I was getting a replacement they said a Cooper will usually take 2 months while a Cooper S would take longer! 1k is kinda steep for a deposit! Hyper Blue/Blue MCSC with Chilli 'No man will make a great leader who wants to do it all himself' A. Carnegie |

Offline | I bought mine from PL for three reasons: 1) It says Park Lane on the number plate 2) They could get them about two months quicker than my local dealer 3) You feel like the business pulling out on to PL in a brand new car We had a bit of a falling out when I picked up my car - they mucked me about a bit - but I think it was because the dealer who I ordered with had since left before the car was delivered. I paid a £1k deposit but I was quite pleased cos I could put that bit on my credit card so I got some air miles! I would go back to PL to buy another car.... (But next time it will be a Porsche! What? I can dream can't I!?!) gm ![]() Very special 'chillied' red and white Cooper, 17" alloys, and a very proud owner ![]() Born on 3 January 2003. |

Offline | When I went to order my MCS I was told 6 weeks approx for delivery...but I was v.lucky to get my hands on a cancelled order. However, for a new order my dealer wanted £1k deposit and not a penny less.... Tinkerbell ![]() |

Offline | £1k deposit seems way too much to me. If I remember correctly I only put down £400 deposit on my Cooper, taking delivery of the car ~8 weeks later. This was back in March and was with Stephen James of Enfield. ![]() |

| meow mini2 meow | nah it was from Lind in Maidstone. One of the salesman also had a word with me because I have added 3 options to the car since I signed the dotted line. I thought - why bother? I'm spending more on the car and you have a go at me about this?! I feel like I want to cancel the order and go elsewhere ![]() London isn't that far from me ![]() |

Offline | £1000 deposit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is well steep. I paid £100 upfront for my MC from the dealer in Kirkcaldy. A bit far for you to go I guess, a very long way from Kent Their delivery times are pretty good as well, about 6-8 weeks. 12 days to go till the big day......... Cheers JJP |

Offline | Chancer, You mean you got a discount on your order?? I thought they weren't giving any discounts. What kind of % if I may ask? Am not too far from H Wyc, so could be worth a visit If I don't get replies on this thread I may start a new thread on this. By the way, thanks to all for the feedback!
