Exclamation Warninig!!!! My mini made me BLEED!!!!

I think this relates to every mini owner.

Took my car out saturday and had loads of stuff in the boot so i had to put the back seats down, i had a great day out and i reached 1000 miles,

anyway when i got back and unloaded the boot, my mini bit me! It actually sliced my fingers!! like a really deep paper cut!! (REALLY DEEP!!)

How it happened: when putting the back seats back up, i put my fingers in the hole that latches on to the latch, smart idea i thought at the time, untill i saw my hand covered in blood.

Wasn't to bothered about the cut, i'm a big boy was more peed off about all the blood on my mcs.

So warning! do noy put your fingers in that stupid hole, or what it me that was just stupid???

I wouldn't put my fingers in the latch hole for fear of getting them covered in grease!

I agree, though - there needs to be a way to pull the seats back up into the vertical position when you're at the back of the car. Maybe if they redesigned the latch so that instead of a solid lever, it was more like the front inside door handles -- a loop that you could grab.

A pull-strap on the back of the seats would have been thoughtful...

I always use that latch hole to pull up the seat. Never had any problems myself.

Never cut, though didn't want to give my finger back. My problem was the swift upper cut to the jaw when the door starts to close as I'm getting into the drivers seat ... OWWWW!

I know its such a far walk, all of 4 feet maybe , but fold them up from the front.

(please don't get upset this is meant in a jovial light hearted sense)

I've got to fold them up from the front anyway so I can re-buckle the rear seatbelts so they don't rattle.

I just crawl in the trunk and lift the seats from the top. It's really quite easy, just remove the trunk cover and its easy as 1.. 2.. 3!!

It could be worse -- my MCS put me in the ER with stitches. My earring caught on the top edge of the door while getting in and ripped the earring out, completely through my ear. Luckily my wife drove me to the ER to get the two flaps of my ear sewn back together, so no blood in my MINI!!

hey guys! really, really cool little idea that a local kid around here has brought to life...the MINI PULL. essentially a strap that hooks to the back of the rear seat in a mini, it makes getting ahold of the seats so easy. the details: a strap about 3 inches long, with 2 rings on each end, with a longer strap about 1.5 feet long attached to the short strap at a 90 degree angle halfway in between the 2 rings. take your rear headrest out, run the 2 posts through those rings (perfectly placed) and replace the headrest. the strap hangs down the back of the seat, where a little piece of velcro is thoughtfully placed to hold the strap tight to the seat back when not in use. fold seats down in the normal fashion, but when it comes time to pull them up, you simply grab the woven loop at the end of the long strap, and pull towards you. viola! the MINI PULL! pretty cool idea, i have to admit. makes me wish i'd thought of it. at any rate, he's just gotten this thing started, and his goal is to remain a manufacturer/distributor. i'm considering being a seller for him...this would be a good a place as any to get an idea. who would be interested in buying something like this?
price would be $20 plus ship/handling, and you would get a pair. guaranteed for 2 years...materials are very good quality...abs plastic rings and woven nylon straps (oh...space age velcro, too ) what do you think?
