do you wave?

hi, i have just picked up my mini ONE today, and was just wondering if new mini drivers wave to each other.
i have a classic mini , and fellow drivers always wave as they pass,
and just wondered if new mini drivers do the same to each other, as i think it adds a sort of community between like minded people.

cheers,

matt.

It's very rare now that anyone responds when I flash or wave at them

Note to self - you really must stop waving and flashing at Skoda Octavia drivers

I always wave, a bit hesitant to flash if other cars are about in case they think I am flashing at them instead!
Only had one flash from another MINI so far - made me smile for the rest of the day
I will continue to wave and flash as much as possible.... after all it tells you to in the documentation you get with the car!

Keep on waving Matt, some traditions are worth preserving.
It is also a tradition to post pics of your new car when you join the forum so we can all drool over it.

I always wave and most all have waved back. Even the guys with the Classic Minis have always waved back here in Central Florida.

I wave and flash. Most other Mini's flash about the same time I do. Friendly folks enjoying their Cars.

I also have a restored '63 Beetle and an M1 Miata. Vintage VW owners and Miata owners both tend to wave so I do a lot of waving while driving. It sure beats road rage.

I wave and also give a thumbs-up if it looks especially nice. So far the only ones who haven't waved back were on their damn cell phones. Since I am rabidly against cell phone use while driving (would vote to make it illegal in a second), it doesn't bother me at all when these oblivious people don't wave back.

I always wave, as do most MINI drivers here in Los Angeles.

Actually, I often flash a peace sign (old hippy habits die hard) out of the sunroof which is open 90% of the time

The only problem is when, in my enthusiasm, I forget the sunroof is closed and I still try to....well you get the idea

PEACE TO ALL

Be careful with that - I believe giving the peace sign backward (palm towards yourself) is equivalent to giving someone the finger in the UK. Some ex-UKers might get the wrong idea.

Point taken...but no worries I do it just like Winston Churchill...who I think may have had something all together different in mind

I always give fellow MINI Pilots a wave, and nearly always get one back. You always have to spread the love

I've noticed I get more waves from MCS drivers, saw a DS/B in town on Saturday at the opposite side of the lights, she waved... also saw a car in virtually same spec as mine about two weeks ago, she waved too (and she was very attractive too )...
