Lightbulb Sudden Realisation - I Am A Mini Addict

... it just dawned on me. I should have noticed the signs earlier

1) Named a car for the first time 'Growler' and he is a boy.

2) Wash wee Growler at least once a week taking far longer than I should due to frequent stops when admiring his paintwork.

3) Keep on referring to my MINI as a 'he'. Growler does not like to be called an 'it'.

4) Always look back after I park him to make sure he is okay.

5) Worry about leaving him outside in a car park (he's only 3 weeks old).

6) Always take the long route when driving home. Or driving anywhere.

7) Smile everytime I go out in Growler.

8) Wonder what I can buy him next to keep him happy.

9) Visit mini2.com more than any other website.

10) Get excited whenever I see another MINI on the road.

I have owned lots of other cars but this is the first time I've felt so attached to one

Got the feeling that my addiction can only get worse (or should that be better?) And you know something - I wouldn't have it any other way!

I am a MINI addict. Are you?

Goldmini - Welcome to the Club. This is the first weekend since I took delivery nearly 7 months ago that I didn't wash my MINI. Not only is the guilt overwhelming but I scraped my bumper for the first time pulling a tent out of the boot. Needless to say, my Tuesday is now offically accounted for.

P.S., you're not certifiable until you have models of your MINI in at least eight different scales (and at least one done in your colours).

Motor On!

The only solution is to do what I did: strip one of the many die cast models out there and airbrush it yourself or you could build the really excellent 1/24 Revell kit that is on the market. Tamiya's gold spray is quite close to the gold MINI uses but as you're in the UK, you can get the aerosol touch up from the dealer and shoot it that way.

Just refinished my yellow hotwheels MINI with my touch up paint to match my MINI
Took me 3hrs to wash my car.

Was just gonna be a wash, then deceided to Zaino, then black up the trim, then vacuum interior, then clean door and boot hinges, then Rain-X windscreen, then clean leather, then clean dash and door trim, then cleaned exhaust

I know how you feel

I have a feeling it's more common than you think. I haven't even picked up my MCS Works and I'm already thinking about extra driving lights, different alloys etc.

The odd thing is I've never done this to any other car. Or even considered it. I was Mr "Straight-off the shelf thanks"

What happened? I'm even thinking about the next one.

I think it must be catching.

Take last Monday night for instance. I started cleaning my 'Baby'. I cleaned her, waxed her, vacummed her lovely interior etc. Now when I started it was light - however, when I finished it was dark and the light I was using was our security light!!! Now that is bordering on obesesson. .

Also I have 5 model MINI's and one of those little one's that you pull back and then loose it and it shoots off. Have comps. to see how far it will go - so even my model MINI has a MINI adventure!!!!!

But do I care - NO, I'M ADDICTED & PROUD!!!!!

DUDES! (Chicks; boys; ladies; whatever ... insert favorite pronoun here)

I don't even have my Cooper yet and I can't stop coming back to MINI2. What the heck will I be like when it arrives?

I'm doomed.

I am right there with you. In fact I'm driving my wife crazy. Yesterday she complained that I used to put my hand on her knee when I was driving and now and just play with my Whalen shifter knob.

I challenge any new Mini owner to walk away from it in a parking lot without turning around at least once to look at it. Some days it seems like I walk into the office backwards.

I've had my MINI now for 2 months and I've washed it more times than I can remember. My hubby thinks I've gone insane - he couldn't remember the last time I cleaned a car

I have MINI screensavers and wallpapers on my PC and my desk at work has 2 MINI models - one model had the wrong colour roof so my colleagues spray painted it for me.

My MINI is also a 'he' and when I park him at a supermarket I park miles away from the entrance to make sure he's okay and won't get hit by a stray trolly.

Another thing I've noticed, he seems to attract other MINI friends when parked. Last week I parked next to another MINI so he wouldn't get lonely whilst I went to the cinema.

I think I must also be a MINI addict
