Need Answer ASAP

Hi everyone.
I am pretty new to this site (posting wise), even though I have spent numerous hours reading hundreds of posts on this site. I think that it is very helpful.
On Monday I shall be ordering my MCS. I have 2 questions though. I have asked my dealer and they don't know the answers. One question is about the Rear Fog Lights. If I order a MINI now, are they coming standard on US models? It used to be an option on MINIUSA.com, but I don't see it there anymore. It is really important to me that I have them, for safety reasons, and also because I want all of my switches. The other question is about the Aux. Audio Input. Where is it located in the car?

Thank you for you help, it is greatly appreciated.

Rear foglamps are an option on MINI's built for the US market and I believe the cost has been quoted at $75.00. Shame on your dealer for not knowing this. (Full switch bank really has you huh?!?)

The Aux Audio input is again a dealer installed option although all MINI's built for the US for 2003 and 2004 are capable. The dealer has to install the harness and connector in your glove box. I am afraid I can't quote you the price as I haven't done this myself but, if you search this site you will find plenty regarding both of your questions.

Read the threads on aux input in the ICE forum. Its a wire with a jack. you can stick it anywhere you like, its supposed to go in the glovebox, and that's probably where your dealer will put it if you have them install it.

The rumor mill thread had rear fog lights only being available from the factory as of Dec, until then, its just a dealer fit retrofit kit, so if you car is being made before Dec, just get the fogs put on when you get your car delivered, try and negociate a better price on installation of course.

Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.

Rear foglights AFAIK will start showing up sometime during Oct. builds. All others will be able to be retro-fitted (at your own cost) around the same time. MINI AFAIK has not set an exact date for either yet.

Unless they are actually coming installed from the factory now, you must install the aux port yourself (or pay the dealer to do) which means you can put it where you want to. Some have put them in the glovebox (believe this is where the MINI instructions say to do it) while others I know have put it in the retrofitted drivers side parcel shelf.

AFAIK = as far as I know (incase anyone didn't know)

When rear fogs become available from the factory on US MINIs, they will be optional and not standard equipment ... just like front fogs.
