Offline | Wait - Alton Towers in May 2002? Folks, please bear in mind that the date for MINI meet at Alton Towers is likely to be a Sat/Sun in May. So I would advise to wait until that date is confirmed before deciding whether to do a London to Brighton run. I quite like the idea of a London to Brighton run, so count me in ![]() |

| Bring the noise | I have done the L-B a couple of times now, and this year plan to do it slighlty differently.... After getting up at the crack of dawn and doing the run, which is fun but most cars become seperated due to traffic lights, wrong turns, loo-stops and anything else ! I love Brighton more than the run, so am going down the day before, do the shopping/night out thing and then on the Sunday have a look at the cars and buy a plaque off the LSMOC stand !!!! If you have never done the run before it is great fun, but as I'm a wannabe Brightoner I'm dodging the run in favour of soaking up the atmos and some great fish and chips from the chippy on the front, near the Palace Pier......! See you down there !! |

Offline | Dinger, I think the main problem with organising a MINI run from London to Brighton on the same day as the LSMOC run will be the amount of traffic. Doing the organised run takes ages, so if you want to do your own alongside them, you are gonna be hit by the same problems. Also when you get to Brighton, you will have to find parking places unlike the official run which has reserved parking on Maderia drive. If you arrive in Brighton late, then you will struggle to find parking spaces... How about a Brighton to London run? As the classic Minis roll in, the MINIs can roll out... ![]() Mon ...1996 Rover Cooper in Tahiti Blue with white...and rust. Offline | What we can do Mon is leave earlier and nick all the good parking spaces around Maderia Drive, what a sight you and your friends would see MINIs all round the area. ![]() |

Offline | Nice idea Dinger, but with so many of you deciding to have the "magic door and window" pack fitted, I'm sure it will be no problem to move your cars out of the way...none of them will be locked will they? ![]() Mon PS This year's London to Brighton could turn into a modern re-make of Quadrophenia...not mods v rockers, but Minis V MINIS... Offline | bordering on the ridiculous?? Which border would that be then Mon?? Don't worry yourself, i have absolutely no intention of going to a mini/MINI show, run, jump or throw. They're just not my thing. BTW, good to see you've been paying attention to the BMW ad-men but please try to be more accurate in future. NewMINI takes over the WORLD....the End. ![]() |

Offline | Derbyshire border, although I sometimes stray into Nottinghamshire. Where about are you...so I can avoid it... ![]() Mini/MINI shows are great, they're like an extension of the websites. You get to meet everyone from the site in real life and they introduce themselves by their stupid username too ("Hi, I'm Mon!"). Next thing you know, you're yelling across the showground "Oi MINI693" have you seen the price of these tyres" It's a good laugh really, you should make an effort to attend at least one. I even met Martyn (from this very site) at a show last year and he turned out not to be the a**hole I thought he would be ( ) although the git did nick my parking space...![]() Mon ...1996 Rover Cooper in Tahiti Blue with white...and rust.
