Offline | lights on i just noticed. . .when you leave the key in the ignition (just in, not turned in anyway) and you have the directional either up or down the signals stay lit. . .can you check yours. . i wonder if mine has a birth defect. .. 2003 mini cooper s silver w/black roof (old glory decal) Frank T |

Offline | It's not a defect... They all do that, no worries. ![]() The idea is that if you park your car on the street, you can put the turn signal down and it'll light up just the one side of the car for visibility. It shouldn't matter if you've got the key in or not. -gb |

Offline | Its also highly useful for people to tell you: 'you left your lights on' The best part is you say, no, I left half of them on. It seems to be a european thing, I know Mercedes do it as well, but its almost never used in the US, although I've used it ocasionally on dark streets when I could quite get off the road, it shows the car is there, its irrelevant if people know why they're seeing half the parking lights. The correct way to use it is either to turn the car off, push the stalk to the side you want, and then take the key out, or take the key out then do it, i can't remember which. In any case, you definetly can lock the car with half the lights on. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |
