Light sensors ??

Is there a Light sensor option for the Mini in ur country ??
I can not understand why isn't there if the sat/nav have one and the mirror have another ?
Is one of the most easier sensor to implement by far ¿?

Sorry I think it's a matter of language... A light sensor to automatically turn on or off the lights.
i.e.: So when u go into a tunnel the light turns on without any intervention.

I think they're a bit overrated. A friend's toyota that she just traded in had it. Because we're in the city, it never gets very dark, so it'd have to think for several seconds if it was in a shadow or if it was dark. Consequently, when she started the car, you could end up pulling out of a parking space and the lights would finally go on as you're turning onto the road.

I'd rather avoid the 'is it dark enough for lights issue' and just have something that turns them off automatically when you shut off the car (unless you use follow-me-home of course).

Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.

Automatic light sensors are odd
I was following a new Jag the other day and it had auto lights...how could I tell????
Well it was daytime and on my way home I have to drive through woods etc. everytime we came to a dark spot the lights would come on
But when we came into full light again they would stay on
Only when the brakes were used would the lights then go off.
Kinda funcky, but a bit pointless IMHO.

Do other systems work this way too?????

MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those............. It's now TTime

Lexus automatic lights, they can flash you as they go under bridges which is amusing.

This is the one thing that I would like to have on my mini, because my GF has a problems with remembering to turn on the lights. Then again there was this time at 2am pulling out of Heathrow..but I won't talk about that.

When I've driven Jeeps you can just use them as normal too. I never put the auto sensors on. They always try to out think you
Too smart for their own good I say

you can over-ride them - I had them in my Lexus and after the initial thrill of seeing them go on and off by themselves just left them on the manual setting. Used to be a nightmare parking at work where part of the car park was covered and part wasn't. They'd be going on and off like nobodies business!
