Offline | Just ordered DS S w/ Premium & Sport pkgs. However, after doing some more research and sitting in a non-sunroof S (not available at time of order), I think I will be much more comforable w/o sunroof. Earlier on in the research process, I was told by an MA that sunroof vs. non-sunroof cars have the exact same headroom. I clearly understand now that this is untrue. The problem is that it appears that the car has gone "scheduled for production" and it is no longer possible to change the order. Given this, does anyone know if there is any possible way to easily modify either the seat mechanism or the lower cushion to accomodate taller drivers? |

| Loves the Fuzzy One | There is no difference in headroom btwn the sunroof and plain roof. The hubby is 6'2, and it's all in his torso. The top of his hair brushes the roof, but he has no problems fitting and driving my MINI. I believe there is someone posting here who is 6'7, maybe he'll see this thread and post too. ![]() Global Moderator |

Offline | I have a sunroof, I'm 6'2" and I have the seat all the way down.... I have absolutely no problem with headroom. .. in fact theres a good 2+ inches clearance even while wearing a hat Trust not the heart of a man for whom old clothes, and the Mini, are not venerable! |

Offline | That'd probably be user 6F7 I believe you could always PM him, since he was online earlier today. Anyway, I'm 6'2" and never had any room issues with the sunroof in my car. I really can't see why the seat adjustment would be different in the two cars, but you could always get different seats, if you're over 6'8" or so, but that's not very cheap, I really don't think you'll have a problem unless you're 6'8" and wear a stetson to drive. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |

Offline | the actual stated difference I beleive, if I remember correctly is .1 inches but unless you are approaching 6' 7" or more it should not be a problem. I've met lots of 6' 5"+ people at MINI meets who have no problems fitting whatsoever sunroof or no sunroof |

Offline | I just dug up the old poll on it here: http://www.mini2.com/forum/general-discussion/11434-drivers-dimensions-poll.html 37 people who would be considered tall seem to have answered it, so you have lots of assistance. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |

Offline | Headroom was one of my main concerns, being 6'3"+. I sat in 2 or 3 cars in the showroom with s/roofs and also drove one. Then went back again and sat in another one, just to make sure. I now have my MINI and there is no problem with headroom, and I don't always have the seat all the way down. OK, there's not masses of room but enough. I also find the s/roof makes the car less claustrophobic and more open which gives the feeling of more head room, or something like that. Hope this helps. JJP |

Offline | 6'4" here, and no problems in a DS S w/ sunroof. I have lots of headroom and lots of leg room. If that's your only concern, fret not. You picked a great color, Joe. |

Offline | 6'3"+ and plenty of headroom with a long torso (inseam only 33"). These cars are mighty mini on the outside and plenty huge on the inside - or was that me? (huge that is). Today I saw a family of four, none of which were in jeopardy of being called petite, climb into a MoonRoof equipped Cooper and take a 15 minute testdrive. The passenger in the rear was at least 6'2" and suffered no difficulties. |

| Just Motor | I am 6'7" and I fit pretty good in a MINI. There is a lot more room in a MINI than my truck. I ordered my MCS without the sunroof because I don't like them. I was at the dealer today, and sat in about five different MINIs (I don't know why), but both the models with the roof and without fit me just fine. |
