Offline | Yup had 2 of my valve caps stolen last night. Looks like a trip to the dealers for me - think I'll get a few, I'll also try the pliers trick.I too like the look of the Mini logo ones - only thing is (apart from the scrotes that steal the damn things in the first place) is I can't seem to find a UK stockist.... |

Offline | Chepaer at BMW garge (20p each INV VAT) I've only seen the fancy ones at Halfords that are anything from £10 to £20, but they did sell some anti theft ones for about £20/£25. But not all of them sell em, I think it was a ripspeed that sold them when i saw em. ![]() |

| CVT is gone, S hole now.. | Welcome to the world of "chromies" Thats what the kids call them. They collect them like pogs or baseball cards and trade them. A recent raid of a middle school netted over 1,000 Valve Caps from student lockers. They collect them from all cars. Honda, VW, Dodge, ect... but the most valued are the BMW & Benz ones. Any one with a logo on it is worth even more, that makes the chrome MINI ones with the logo EXTREEMLY valueble. I walked around the parking lot here at work and found caps missing from nearly all the cars. So if you see any 8-14 year old boys near your car, hit them with something heavy and take there stash. You will have enough valve caps for a few years. -Technomage -Technomage turned due to CVT problemsNow Stylein in MCS CR/W All options except NAV and PDC. Garmin 2610 NAV. Offline | I lost one a few weeks ago and have been keeping an eye out for a unicycling kid to beat up but to no avail. My neighbour took delivery of a cooper on Saturday either minus one valve cap or one got swiped in the first three hours of ownership. Anyway he's bought some locking caps and i have got his three as spares. Got my shiny bullet caps on at the moment though and valve collars these will come off tommorow morning. I am not sure about my new ariel a blue anodised 5 inch bee sting that might have to be just for show as well, picked it up at the concept show yesterday. Then again I might just brick the garage up and have done with it !!!!!!! They are out there you know just waiting.. |

Offline | Last week we watched two little sh**s work their way along the carpark outside our office, relieving every BMW of its valve caps. This was ammusing because several of the said BMWs were parked there illegally - had they not then no doubt it would have been the caps off Mo who should have been parked there! - Anyway I've had to replace them once already - no charge from the dealer (ta v.much Dunedin) ![]() McMINI Adventuring across Scotland |

Offline | Dumb Kids Had this happen to me as well but it was only attempted theft! I was at the grocery store, which happens to be located right next to a video game store. Time of day was, ironically, just as school was letting out for the day. Came back to the car and noticed that the driver's side wheels had finger prints and that the caps were loose and just about off. It makes me think that someone busted them in the middle of the theft or that I interrupted them. Now, I have tightened them as much as I possibly can... ![]() Jason Jason Livingood | personal web site 2002 DS/W MINI Cooper S Thank you for signing my rear fog light petition. Offline | A few minutes ago I noticed on my MINI the following- 1.Finger marks in the brake dust on the offside alloys where someone has tried to steal the metal valve caps, they had no joy as I had tightened them up with pliers. 2.The little s**ts in their frustration had stuck a piece of broken glass in the tyre wall on the rear offside tyre and had stuck a piece of broken glass underneath the rear nearside tyre so if I reversed it would of punctured the tyre tread. I honestly think it would be easier to put plastic caps on just to stop all this crap. Yours in frustration, RAYASP. |

Offline | Who has had valve caps stolen? Read quite a few posts regarding this lately and thought I'd ask as I'm getting my MINI next week and really like the MINI valve caps. It looks like a predominantly British phenomenon from the posts. MINE!! on 10/18/02 - IB/W Cooper S, White Bonnet Stripes, Premium - Sport - Cold, Lapis Blue interior, Nav, Rally Lamps, 17" White Spokes. Wouldn't change a thing.... |
