I just call 1-866-ask-mini and inquired whether the '04MY improvements (auto-relock after 2 minutes and the OBC improvements) could be retrofitted to previous MY's via a software update. I was told that the engineers has not done anything towards that end as of yet, they did not know if it was going to be done in the future either. I mentioned a lot of us on MINI2 have already begun clamboring for it and he acknowledged that they read these boards quite often and would be passing our interest along to the engineers.

So it looks like for now anyway retrofit software updates are not available ... if anyone does get it done in the future please post here and let us know

I should be going in for some tricks soon, and I plan to get this done, dealer didn't seem to think it would be a problem.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if MINIUSA was wrong ... not like it ever happened before lol just thought I'd pass along what I was told ... gonna see if my dealer will do it (and for free for turning off my other options ) when I go back next week for rear fogs
