| Hangin at the Krusty Krab | Well, following the elephant.co.uk fiasco, I've been ringing around for quotes. Tesco: £1355 BMW: £1345 ....... AXA: £609 Policy: 12 months (so it's actually cheaper than elephant!!), me (29) + my other half (26), 1 claim, no NCD, £15000 MC etc...... Standard Parts Clause: Anything from the factory / dealer fit is covered, 1st 12 mths is new for old. Get this, if I have a performance induction kit fitted before I take delivery, it won't be classed as a modification and will be covered too!! How good is that?? May work for other things, but check b4 you buy. I was told that they are fairly tight on modifications, so you need to get everything done b4 delivery to be OK. Whilst the proof is in the pudding (insurance companies are only as good as their claim process), I'm a fairly happy camper. Just wanted to pass on my considerable joy!!! Moral: leave elephant, join AXA (0800 013 9292). P.S. I have taken great pleasure in cancelling my elephant policy. P.P.S. The website was only £1 different from the phone quote, so give it a go....(www.axamotor.co.uk) ![]() |

Offline | Yup, I've been with AXA for a while...I used their Website and it was only £517 for my MCS compared to elephants £1000 ![]() I had to question them by telephone if I were covered for factory-fitted items and they said yes, as all they needed was proof, like a receipt ![]() There was a £40 difference between Website and telephone Hyper Blue/Blue MCSC with Chilli 'No man will make a great leader who wants to do it all himself' A. Offline | After realizing a couple of weeks ago the actual level of insurance my current Elephant insurance gave me I have been rather worried. On spotting your thread I immediately went to axa's site and attempted to get a quote, unfortunately they were unable to quote me online, so I went ahead and phoned their number to see if they would quote me over the phone... Its then that I find that as I am 23 they will not insure me on my MCS, I?m just too young, it seems that 25 is the cut-off for the MCS ![]() So for the past few hours I?ve been looking around for other quotes that cover every single piece of my car, having spent £19300 I want to make sure that I get as much as possible back if I was unfortunate enough to have an accident. The way I see it now is the difference in money that I pay between an elephant policy and a policy that gives me full cover over 4 years still doesn?t make up even half of the price that my extras are worth. Now that is a risk I really don?t want to be taking with my pride and joy. Mini is looking like its giving me the best value at the moment and that?s £1500 The Tesco online system doesn?t like me as I seem to have got it muddled by asking for allot of quotes on different cars ( before I completely fell in love with a MCS and just had to have it no matter what the cost). Everyone else I try is pointing in the £1800 direction Anyone with any other insurance company ideas? |

Offline | Just a warning: Some (not all) Axa policies, won't give you a brand new car if you write off your Mini in the first year of insurance. Check the T&C's carefully. Not a big problem if you can live with it. Phil |

Offline | I have recently found out that AXA have increased their premiums. When I took mine out a few months ago, it was way cheaper than it is now. Hey guys, don't use Axa, they're no good ![]() Hyper Blue/Blue MCSC with Chilli 'No man will make a great leader who wants to do it all himself' A. Carnegie |
