United-Kingdom Lifting a Mini

I want to be able to get under my Mini this winter to keep it clean and free of salt etc. I have been looking at a trolley jack plus axle stands and normal drive up ramps but none of these options really give you good access to underneath. I have now started to look at other options like simple garage lifts and have come across a type scissor lifts (sometimes refered to as mobile lifts). I have attached a photo of one below from Machine Mart in the UK, does anyone have experience with this type of lift, particularly lifting a Mini ? Or does any one else have a better solution for getting the Mini off the ground (with the engine off !)

Cheers.

does it have to be off the ground, or could u look at it from a garage pit? i suppose that's a much more permanent and expenisive option tho... a friend of mine has one, but i guess u can't just dig a whole in the middle of ur average garage

Still waiting to hear if anyone has had any experience with these scissor lifts or have other ideas about lifting a Mini in a home garage (high ceiling) for maintenance. I am tempted to buy the lift in the attached photo but it is £1500 and I dont want to waste the loot if there are problems with these or better options available.

All help or comments appreciated.

Cheers.
