What are the chances of THAT happening

Going along the Gatwick spur road today and coming up behind is an all black Cooper S (only about the second blk/blk S I've seen on the road...not including the Cotswolds run). I think to myself 'now that is a damn fine looking car', then as the car pulls alongside in the queuing traffic I smile across at the young lady driving it and she COMPLETELY ignores me. I think 'Well that's a shame...oh well nevermind'. Her car pulls a little further forward and I glance across one more time....it's only a flipping Works S for gawd's sake!!! This is only the second Works S I've seen on the road apart from on the Cotswolds run...

Two all black Cooper S works side by side and she doesn't even acknowledge my existance!! How kack is that!

The world is just full of people with their heads up their butts....

You've just had a meeting with a Fashionista. They don't care how the car drives or handles as long as they have the top of the range car and look good. Think Kings Road Posse.

There is just one moon and one golden sun; And a smile mean friendship to ev'ryone; Through the mountains divide, and the oceans are wide; It's a small world after all.

Im not sticking up for her, but....

...I started off in September waving at everyone in a mini (not just MCS drivers) like one of those people from "the wavy bus"..only to find that after a week no one had even looked in my direction

I even sat stationary at a junction whilst an mcs (same colour & black roof) turned right and looked right at me with a blank expression as i waved.

....So maybe she got fed up with everyone ignoring her.

..Ive gone to the extreme now where i...(you know when you’ve waved at someone in the distance and they’ve ignored you and you gradually turn the wave into a stretch because everyones looking at you)...kind of like that...

...Please wave at me

I know what you mean, some days I wave at every MINI regardless of wether they wave back, other times I dont bother because I feel and idiot when they dont reciprocate (bloody hell where'd I get that big word from !!)...

I have to agree with both Steeljacket and Northandy, I am also getting sick of getting no responce what so-ever You feel like such a fool when they just ignore you so you tend not to want to do it again. though it feels really good when some one does respond . SO keep on wavin' Like every thing its a numbers game, the more you wave the more responce you get and hopefully it will eventually sink into those that don't that it doesn't cost them anything

Nic D - I'm sure it states on the order form and in the handbook that waving is mandatory

Having gone from a Scooby to an S in the last couple of weeks I can say that I definateley have seen more mini"s than scoobs about. More waves from other Scoobs when I had it but not as many from other mini drivers.
Quite a few of the mini drivers that i"ve seen are female or ( try to put it tactfully) at the older end and perhaps they dont subscribe to forums and thats why they give u a blank stare when u wave.
If u see a D/S B MCS or I/B One D ( driving school car ) in and around Tameside, Greater Manchester please wave.

Driving through France last week, I saw only 1 other Mini - I flashed and waved.....nothing. I guess that's the French for you.

I also overtook a truck carrying about 6 Minis, the driver flashed and waved (so I waved back). A French lorry driver too - so I guess that's the French for you......

Just this morning I had a similar experience. I have a LY/W MCS. As I was waiting at a stoplight a CR/W MCS pulled right behind me in line. We both got onto the freeway and were side-by-side waiting for the green light. We passed each other a couple of times before I got to my off-ramp. Not ONE TIME did she wave, nod, smile, flip me the bird, nothing. Yes, she WAS blonde but maybe not a Natural Blonde...

Blue Cooper

I've had experiences both good and bad with my IB/W MC. One of my first days out with the Cooper I stopped at a stoplight right next to a DS/B MCS, and we shared a mutual nod. Also, I've passed a CR/W MC twice, and both times the woman inside smiled and waved out the window.

In contrast, I've also passed this B/W MC twice, and both times flashed my lights and received nary a look.
