Ireland Three spoke steering wheel or not.

I was ready to order a mini today, and ask about the three spoke steering wheel, the dealer at North Oxford Garage mention it cost 174 quids for it. Is that correct?

I presume, it was a new design that all mini will have next year. But it wasn't. Just an extra option. If it is out on Dec 1st, surely there should be some pictures of it by now? Yes, I have seen some dodgy pics on this website. Everyone appears to be in the dark about this option.

I can not find the message which I read few weeks ago about the fitting of the four driving lamps, The middle lamps slight higher than the two end lamps. I really like the idea and someone sent a design drawing and photos of the fitting for the lamps. I look up in the search nothing. Is there anyone who would sent me the design and I will try and get a blacksmith to make one for me!

cheers
felix

I'm pretty sure its just an option? I think its called the 'Sport Steering Wheel' if I'm not correct, but I would imagine it would cost quite some money.

The 'dodgy pic' on this website of the multi function version was posted by a dealer, and they got the information internally, so why your dealer doesn't have any pictures is a mystery to me!?

Anyway, it's an option, and as such is also part of the Chili Packs.

it's called "Sport Steering Wheel" in the new hand book.

Attached is a pic of it from the hand book.

I heard it was just an option also and I'm glad. I don't like the way it looks IMO it looks cheap and doesn't mach the interior well.

Yes, my dealer looked it up on his BMW intranet - and showed me the exact same picture. As mentioned before, it will be available in Chili packs builds from the last few weeks of Dec - (week 49 i think).

I was very disappointed that I could not get one of the new steering wheels on my new Cooper S - My build date was too early (second week September 03). I don't like the current sports steering wheel design - although I shouldn't be too disappointed as its only just become a standard item (I think - waits to be shot down in flames!!!!)

I asked my dealer how much it would be to retro the steering wheel with the chunky thumb grips to an '02 MINI and he said around $500 CAD, its just your basic swap over. I wonder if the 3 spoke will be similar?

Noticed in the dodgy pics, all come in brillant silver, will I have a choice choosing what ever the dash is, I am thinking of anthrite, will the steering comes out in anthrite?

I very much doubt you'll get any choice, the current one has silver bands on it whatever the dash choice, other parts of trim are also still silver regardless of dash/trim choice.

Yea I think you have to pay extra but if you get full leather interior with a MFSW you get it for free, well I am so im assuming you do. I personally think its look so good and the fact that it wont be a common wheel is just a bonus
