I have been looking around for pictures (still am) and found Indie Blue with White stripes and White top but not for Black stripes & Black top. If anyone has any links to these, please post (I have searched through this forum for pics people may have linked to but no luck).

Also, I have been looking at the black roofs since I am not so sure the sunroof will look any good on the white roof (correct me if I am wrong).

The sunroof looks ok on a white roof. There's lots of pictures of that in the gallieries, so search for it. The sunroof looks better on black, but the white looks much much better (in my opinion) on the car, so its worth the tradeoff.

If you really dislike the sunroof, there's a group buy going on for vinyl to cover the sunroof in white, so it'll pretty closely match the roof but you still get the ability to open it and slide it.

Thanks for the heads up on the vinyl cover group buy. It is something I am trying to figure out (and whether I want a sunroof anyway)

It does look quite good, but as you see more MINIs (and more pictures) you tend to realize white roofs and black roofs have much different personalities. (As does color matched roof) It depends what you like, I'm definetly a white roof person myself

The best way to figure out a sunroof (besides if you can afford it) is to test drive a car with one, its really best experienced, not just decided on based on looks.

Doesn't seem to be too pricey but I understand what your saying. I think I would be better suited with a white roof and those slick white bonnet stripes. I have a 2000 Infinti with a sunroof that I never use (the wind screws up my hair when I drive it). So sticking with the plain white roof maybe fine.

I have been checking out a lot of types of Mini's here at work though (I am at the BMW / Mini Headquarters) but it is a tough decision to make. Thanks for the help though

Well, if you're at headquarters, get a ride with someone who has a sunroof to lunch. See if it messes up your hair. I've found sunroofs vary a lot from model to model, the MINI one is annoying above 35 mph but below that, its not too bad and if its just popped open, it doesn't do much at all besides let in some air. But depends on your hair I'm sure.

Then you can choose a color based on what everyone else doesn't have.

I really like IB/W though, so I'm going to support you getting that, regardless of sunroof.

Yea I have to find someone with one with a sun roof (since they vary so much it is a tough find). Most people here that have one (not many actually since most have some sharp looking BMW cars instead) have chilli red or silver.

I love my sunroof ... it was the last thing I added to my order and I am soooo glad I did, if I hadn't I think I would have traded in for another MINI with one by now.

PS- black roofs rule!!!

I test drove one with and one without - I loved the sunroofs! They give a real feeling of space to the car - especially in the back seat.

As for roof color, it was tempting to go for the slick look of a black roof on my Indie Blue or even the all one color look..but I chose the white for it's crisp look and, well, tradition. It's also got to be helpful in the long hot summers, don't you think?

Granted, GMINI03 your Silk Green is a fine lookin' machine! If that color had still been available it would have been a hard choice for me - a true blue lover.

I never had any of the anticipated 'black roof = cooked" summer problems ... comfort open the windows and sunroof while I'm walking towards it ... jump in start her up ... auto A/C kicks in ... close everything up ... cool as a cucumber
