Here is some bad news for you expectant MINI owners in the state of Michigan (or any other state where your MINI dealer is behind in building their MINI dealership)

Here's an excerpt of a news article from the Detroit News:

Metro Detroiters eager to get their hands on the new Mini -- the tiny British car that marks its return to America next month -- may have to wait until late fall.
BMW AG awarded just one Mini franchise in Michigan to dealer Eitel Dahm, but the German automaker won't let him sell the legendary car until his new BMW-Mini dealership opens this October in Shelby Township.
Dahm, who already has nearly 600 orders for the Mini, hopes to work out a deal to get the Mini earlier by temporarily using the now-empty Audi showroom at his Bavarian Motor Village in Eastpointe. Dahm moved the Audi franchise to Rochester Hills last year near where he is building the BMW-Mini dealership.
But so far BMW is saying no.
