United-Kingdom Bit of quick advice needed....

If the dealer scratched one of my wheels (17" MCS Wheels), leaving a 2 inch scratch, should I ask them to replace the wheel and do all balancing etc??

If they scratched my windscreen would they not replace it??

Cheers,

Jones.

F*ing right they should!!! Dealers really should be more carefull. We spend every waking moment looking after and caring for our cars, those bugg*rs bl00dy should do the same for the couple of days they have it!!!

Woah, that was the quickest advice I have ever had! And with passion too!!

Glad I didnt tell you the whold story that the service man took my JCW MCS for an over night "test" and put 70+ miles on the clock!! And they didnt even clean the wheels when they gave it back to me. The dealership manager gave me a complimentary full valet but it is only a few days later after washing the car myself I noticed the scracth which could only have been that little git of a service assistant!

never never never give permission for any MINI dealer staff to have your car overnight. As for the scratch on the wheel it could be difficult to prove they did it!

This is true and something I was thinking about but as there was no checklist such as when you have a loan/rental car, is it not fair to say that they cannot prove that they didnt do it?!

At the very least i would be complaining in the strongest possible terms to the dealership manager, if you get no joy, write to the MD of the dealership - asking him to explain the 70+ miles. I bet you'll get a result !

This happened to Washy, again he did not notice until he washed teh car later but the dealer repaired the wheels FOC, it was two they knackered.

Just persevere, do not take no for an answer and create merry hell if needs be - good luck

get them out the workshop, get them to check the wheel. If they deny it, here is a little bit of info.

When my car is in the garage, as i have been leaving the depot, i have seen a little scrot screwing my car into the workshops, (on many occasions) These scrotums are the trainee service engineers, and are allowed to drive the cars. I complained about the 18 year old hammering my car through the car park, they said that it will not be driven by him again.

The truth is that most of the time, anyone under 21 in the UK working for a dealership is not insured for accidental damage on customers vehicles. So the young people should not be driving our cars at all.

Even though they do it on private property, the area of property needs to be safe, and if it has vehicles moving around the area, they all need to be covered by a satisfactory insurance policy.

So, dont take no S**T, get those wheels changed FOC

The Mini V Has Spoken, i thank you.

As Soggy said my dealer managed to catch both of my front S spokes. Not only did they repair the two dinged ones they found a fault on one of the others and sorted that too.....Now I am careful to check the wheels when the car goes in (nice shiny new S with R90's ) and make a point of telling them the wheels have no marks....and I check them before I drive away....

Black to the future....
