Offline | any discounts to be had Hello everyone, As everyone would ive been trying my hardest to negotiate a discount on my new MCS. Im looking at the march 04 delivery for the new 04 plates and im finding it impossible to get anything either more for my trade in or any extras thrown in. The delaer assures me that no one gives discounts and hes protecting the value of my car. Is this the case is there someone out there with a happy tale to tell?? Im looking at buying from dealer in Reading, Berks btw Thanks Phil |

Offline | About the best people have done is to get the TLC service pack for free or a reduction in the price of accesories. I tend to agree that in a way they are protecting the residuals of the cars. If you get a decent trade in offer than I'd be happy with that, many dealers don't come anywhere near price guides on their trade-ins. Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | So they are offering what is in the book? Most dealers won't even offer you that When I was buying the MINI one dealer offered £2200 the other £2700 for my Punto. These figures were less than what the car worth according to Parkers etc. I sold it privately for £3750 ![]() Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | About 2 weeks ago I ordered my MCS and got rubber mats and the TLC thrown in plus mud flaps fitted at cost, but nothing of the cost of the car. I did get the extra cost of the new MCS Chilli Pack knocked down from £130 to 100 whci is better than nothing Laser Blue / Black MCS - Arived March 07 |

| MINI2 Irritant | when I brought our MINI One they basically threw in the TLC and Chrome exhaust Pipe - but as the car had paint problems, I rejected it & the dealer gave me a full refund - as I was prepared to show faith with the dealer and up to a MCS as replacement, I was given a special allowance off my order - which worked out about 4% off the price. So I guess for being unlucky, I ended up one of the lucky ones!! |

| Hangin at the Krusty Krab | Same for me. My rejected car (18mths old) is being replaced with a new MC. I'm getting: One-for-one replacement car + Driving lamps Silver UJ on roof Chrome mirrors Alloy patina trim MFSW White indicators Cooper S spoiler as well as a transfer of my Sony CD head unit, fitting of a Pipercross filter, 12V socket in boot and removal of glovebox in preference for the shelf, for £1400 ![]() I'm also getting a full refund of the unused portion of my 4 year shortfall insurance, and a new shortfall policy will be drawn up on the full list price of my new MC without the discounts. Needless to say, they will make me a happy man (on the 24th Nov). |

Offline | thanks for the response so far, yes i will be trying to sell the trade in car privately I am trying to get a sense of whether there were absolutely no discounts (free bits of upgrades as im getting leather, heated seat, chrome wing mirrors , tlc etc etc ) there should be some tiny room for negotiation. The salesman was sticking to his guns as he is entitled to do when mad keen ppl turn up to his showroom but i need some discount any discount its a matter of pride and family motto ![]() any examples of deals and dealers where u got them esp in my area will be more ammuntion for my next showroom visit !! Thanks Phil |

Offline | Just ordered an MCS - the first car I've paid list price for! They wouldn't budge on the list price or price of accessories (apart from a small discount on some of the fitting costs). Rang round a few other dealers and got the same story of protecting values etc. Finally, got free TLC after more nagging, but that's it. Fair enough if they continue to protect values, but if discounting breaks out later I'll be very upset! |

Offline | I was thankful to find a dealer that was taking orders AND wasn't charging over sticker price. Since I wasn't able to pick up the car immediately after the dealer received it, they put it on the showroom floor and put floor mats in it. They tried to sell me the mats, but I didn’t want them since I had already bought rubber mats so they just left them in the car. I guess that means I got an extra for free. Woo-hoo! Maybe I’ll sell the carpet mats on eBay. |
