Can any BMW dealership service Mini?

Hello all, I am new here and thinking of purchasing a Mini. The nearest dealer is 200+ miles away; I do have a BMW dealer about 3 miles from my house though. I wanted to know if any BMW dealership could perform service and warranty work on the Mini? Will they also perform the 3yr/36K mile covered maint.?

Sorry if this has been covered before but I tried to use the search function and could not come up with what I was looking for. Thanks for any and all help.

NO BMW dealers cannot do warranty work on MINI's, they have neither the tools nor training to do so.

I live approx. 320 miles away from the nearest Mini dealer, even so I'm on the

Is this really true? I talked to one BMW dealer by my house when I got my Mini, and they said they couldn't and refered me to a mini dealer. However, I called up another bimmer place later on and they said they could do work on it. I think it just might depend on the BMW dealer, so your best bet would be to just call the dealership itself and ask them.

call 1-866-ASK-MINI and they will tell you BMW dealerships can not service MINI's ... they won't have the tools, the software, the parts or the training.

In the US BMW dealers that don't have MINI dealerships CANNOT do warranty work on the MINI at this time.

And don't forget MINI won't pay them. The most important part from the dealer's viewpoint

I think this should be a quick FAQ btw.

Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.

I live more than 3000kms away from my nearest MINI Dealer. My local BMW dealer (5kms) is doing the first service on my car over the weekend

Cheers

Dutchy.

Sadly INIMINI is gone, but never forgotten.

I guess we should specify, since the poster was in Arkansas.

In the United States (and Canada too I think) BMW dealers cannot do warranty work.

I guess it supports that its possible, since it occurs in the UK and elsewhere, but certainly MINIUSA is against it at the moment.

it's the most disturbing part of MINI life. I don't understand it. I can kind of reason with the limited dealership, not where they put them however (8 in LA but, not one between Sacramento and LA ) and that makes up 2/3 of CA) . I will hope with the growing number of MINI's that this will change. For example; the nearest MINI dealership is 2 1/2 hours, nearest BMW dealer 15 min. I would think if this dose not change it will eventually bite them. I mean what's the big deal with having at least one Tech? If not one in every BMW dealer how about, say one every 60 miles? I think this hole being "exclusive" is carried a bit far in this area of the MINI montra.
