Offline | Where do you put your garage door opener? Just got my MCS this weekend. I love it! But I can't seem to find a good place for my garage door opener? The visors are too thick to clip it up there. Any suggestions? I don't want to alter any toggles or anything like that. Just looking for a simple solution. Thanks! |

Offline | In my RHD Cooper there's a litte compartment by my right knee in which my garage door opener fits perfectly. It's right next to the headlight level adjuster. ![]() |

Offline | Mine is about the size of a cigarette lighter (no s******ing please) and will fit nowhere conveniently. So it's permanently leaning over in the cup holder along with the hands free kit and car park money. Now, which smart zapper manufacturer is going to make a round one the same diameter as a can of drink ? No I don't think so either. |

Offline | I attached mine up and behind the toggles using velcro. doesnt to seem to inhibit reception being that far down. WARNING-Objects in rear view mirror have a tendency to disappear! 9/20 build '03 MCS IB/W/W, everything but the NAV & Sunroof |

Offline | I purchased a minature garage door opener from Cabela's (www.cabelas.com) (Call - it is not listed on their website). It's about the size of a "fun size" candy bar and can be clipped to your key ring. However, it also comes with a mountable holder that I mounted with velcro underneath the toggles in my MCS. It is thus, hidden, but easily removeable from the mount. I have not needed to remove it from the slide in mount as it opens the door from the below toggle position. It is a great addition and well worth the small cost considering that no modifications were necessary. 2003 BRG/W MCS - The Way We Wrrrrr!!!!! |

Offline | Groovy! So, it duplicates your other remote's frequency? If so, that's what I need, although, then I'll re-locate that thread which shows a nice DIY/How-To on utilizing the extra spot up near the clock as a built-in button. How much, trico? ![]() |

Offline | Open your airconditioned glovebox, and there before you is the sun glasses holder in the flip-down door. It doesn't seem to hold glasses very well, BUT it's the perfect fit for our garage door opener and a small white-LED penlight. Totally out of sight, but easy to use. Offline | Out of sight - that's good . But isn't it inconvenient to reach over and take it out from the glovebox everytime you want to open and close the garage? esp with a passenger in the way too (unless you have him or her do it)? I guess I like to have the garage door open in advance of my reaching it, so I don't have to stop and wait for it to go up before driving in. (Nothing like pulling into your garage at 30 mph! ) Reaching over to the door pocket is easier for me... and it's not unsightly there either. Maybe MINI should add Homelink to a convenience package! speaking of glovebox - anyone figured how to put a LOCK on it??? ![]() |

Offline | I should be careful here (the 30mph approach speed and all!). We easily secured it (temporarily) into the sunglasses slot so it's easy to just flip open the glovebox, push on the door opener mounted right there, flip shut the glovebox, and then drive in. Easy, quick, no movement of any components each time, no scratches on the plastic parts of the door bins, and ... out of sight. Are you getting any tire rubber buildup in the braking zone in front of your garage door? Once you get real good, maybe a little handbrake j-turn would position and park the car nose-out for the next morning? You could launch directly from the garage that way and be at speed by the time you crossed the sidewalk! Offline | lol. I guess the MINI build quality for the glovebox is pretty good to stand up to all the open-shut. no J turn necessary - since the reverse lurch does plenty to get me rolling out and down the driveway. whoo hooo - that lurch! |
