I just got my
MCS and I am still getting used to all the little sounds that my MINI makes. I can find most of the answers by searching all over this forum. However, it would be great to have them all in one place (like a FAQ) for the new MINI owner to refer to. For example, I still don't quite know what the sound is when I first stick my key in the car and turn it (engine doesn't have to be on). It is sort of electric sounding whine type thing for a few seconds. Is that the fuel pump or is it going through some sort of diagnostics or something? Or how about the GLOOP sound that was talked about here? I heard that once. And the clunk sound that I hear right after pulling away? I though maybe it was my automatic locks trying to go down even though I opted not to have them do that...or maybe it is the ABS sound. Anyway, I think a FAQ would be great for us new MINI owners to try and understand what are cars are doing. There is already one on the 12 mph cluck but maybe we could expand that into more. And in the meantime, if anyone can shed some light on my questions, that would be great :-)
