Green Cooper HELLO!!! - 2007 MINI replacment?

This is my first post here and I juat want to say hi to everyone. HI!!! It's nice to finally find a place where everybody is as passionate about MINIs an I. Anyways... I wanted to know if anyone has heard anything about this -

"Details are scant, but "maxi Mini" is rumored for 2005 as a companion for the current models, not a replacement. BMW is said to be mulling a 4-dr hatchback, a "trunked" sedan, a demi-pickup, a mini-minivan, and perhaps a reincarnated Mini Traveller wagon... ...sources say the big Mini will spawn a replacement for the current 2-dr hatchback. Look for it around 2007"

I found this at the Cunsumer Guide webpage
http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/n...x.cfm/id/37657

I cannot belive that the current 2 door would be replaced by a lager car.

you contradicted yourself. You said the 'maxi mini' would be a companion not a replacement, then you go on to mull the replacement of the current with the larger. MINI has been said to be mulling variations from the beginning.

There are many stories about replacements/variants on here Try a search on "wagon", "Traveller" and other such themes. You'll find a whole load of weird and wonderful suggestions, including some mad photoshopped pictures

Bearing in mind the MINI is already much bigger than the Mini wouldn't it have to be a Maxi Maxi MINI? In fact wouldn't it be a BMW version of the Austin Maxi - you may not have seen it in the States but it was God-awful - the only saving grace being the seats folded flat to form a double bed (an ex-girlfriend had one!). As for a "trunked sedan", please no...everytime they stick a trunk on a hatchback - think Focus or Yaris - it ends up looking like a right dog's dinner.

Hello Wetworth and welcome. Two things if I may. Please do not post a picture of the MINI with the big boobs and don't spend too much time in Faults & Fixes as it will only cause undue worry.

Hello!

Try reading through the the three most recent news stories for some 'future MINI' ideas, and check the future variants forum for even more rumours.

I have a pretty good idea what they're working on, but what they're working on and what will appear are two different things....

Come-on now. All you have to do is look at 99% of all the cars ever built to see that all the manufacturers can't help themselves when it comes to bringing out a new replacement for an existing car. It's almost always bigger and heavier.

As for me, I'm quite happy with the MCS I have. I'm not interested in replacing it with a bigger car. If I want to drive a bigger car, I get the Vette out!
