Offline | Thank God its an option Went to MINIUSA.com to the "build your own MINI section" to play around with my waiting to order MINI and found some changes. On the interior they have the three spoke steering wheel and its a option. That is great news because IMO I think it is ugly and doesn't flow with the MINI interior. Here's the kicker, when it shows the package with the regular steering wheel the price says $1300 when you substitute the three spoke it jumps to $1600. I'm just glad its a option. Another change is you used to be able to get the rear fog lamps for $100. they did away with that and now have the fog light package for $190. The problem is with the sport package you get the front fogs anyway so does that mean it is still $100 for the rear or they rip you for the $90? Tavis1 ![]() |

Offline | I'm glad the 3 spoke is an option as well. I also prefer the original design. MINI recently changed several of the options for building a MINI off their site. If you look closely, their are several places where the fog lamps are listed as an option now. Firstly, remember the front fog lamps are included in the Sport package. Then under Step 3 (Visibility) the front and rear fog lamps are separate options at 140 and 100 dollars respectively. Then, in Step 5 (Accessories, Exterior Styling) again they are listed as on option with rear fog lamps @ $75 and a fog lamp package @ $199. I believe they are listed at a lower price in the accessories section because they are just the parts and do not include labor for installation. The higher costs in the earlier steps includes factory installation (I think). Hope this helps. There's plenty of road out there. Have an analog moment and drive your MINI. |

Offline | actually the rear fogs are a dealer installed option. They put in the new switch pannel then they program the car for them. The price they show basicly is for the pannel. Tavis1 ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | I just had them installed today. Total cost was about $133 for the new panel and <gulp> 45 minutes of labor. Pics to follow Looks nice from the back. Added bonus (though I forgot to ask for it when I picked the car up) is I'm gonna get my old panel back....who knows what I'll use it for now ![]() The Lazer Chili Red w/ White Top/mirrors/wheels clear third brake light Sony Mp70 + T69 more to come? |

Offline | You two are onto it! Start a new thread, here! I've been wondering what to do with our older 5-switch Toggle Panel. So, who's got the know-how to make it functional in another way? |

Offline | You could take the panel apart and sell the switches. I'd pay $10 for a switch. (Wink, wink.) At that rate, you could get fifty bucks back... Ditch |

| MINI2 Regular | I was thinking it'd make a great remote control panel for when I finally buy a condo TV, DVD, etc...only the power buttons of course. or maybe a light switch panel or something...I probably have the knowhow if i search through my brain for all the stuff i didn't pay attention to in circuits...The Lazer Chili Red w/ White Top/mirrors/wheels clear third brake light Sony Mp70 + T69 more to come? |
