| MINI2 Newbie | Hello to you all MINI guru I ordered my MINI back in May '03, was told that the car won't be built til July '04. Between now and then I can change anything I like (my salesperson said). Anyway my questions are 1. Does the 3 spoke streering wheel have the same buttons/function as the standard 2 spoke one? 2. Can anyone be so kind to attach some picture of the navigation when its working please. 3. Does the HK stereo function (bass, treble, track number, track time, etc) showing on the Nav screen? 4. Does JCW a lot faster than the regular S? that's all the question I can think of for now. thanks guy |

Offline | Welcome, SLEEPY_NOKKIE! 1.) Does the 3 spoke streering wheel have the same buttons/function as the standard 2 spoke one? There are two forms of the current 2 spoke wheel, one of which is referred to herein as, "MFSW" or Multi-Function Steering Wheel. Only the MFSW would offer cruise control, volume buttons, et cetera. 4.) Is JCW a lot faster than the regular S? I've never driven a MCS with a JCW kit, but I'd guess, Yes. ![]() The JCW kits involve an ECU re-mapping which ups the SuperCharger's ante via Air :: Fuel ratio changes (among other technical things). With BMW's certification on the JCW kit, full warranty coverage & the hefty install price, one gets their money's worth, one way or another. ![]() If it's not 200hp, it's enough more than standard, certainly! The JCW's ceramic coated SC fins, ECU & smaller pulley (14% reduction?) are often discussed herein. A great many folks have added the 15% reduction pulley's thamselves (myself included). The extra boost is there with just this modification, though re-sale value may wane & fear of warranty work being denied via MINI are always there as a result to boot. The great benefit of the JCW is the high resale value & relative ease of re-sale whenever you're ready. If you can afford it, - I'd certainly recommend it over the DIY route for this very reason. Good luck, all around. ![]() Last edited by SugarBelly : Nov 18th, 2003 at 11:31 PM. |

Offline | 1. there are less buttons on the 3 spoke MFSW then a 2 spoke MFSW, what ones are eliminated I do not know 2.have a search in the personal galleries bound to be several in there 3. I would guess(and it is a guess) that info is displayed on the headunit same as a non nav equipped MINI 4.A lot is relative ... go for a test drive in each at your dealer its the only true way to know whats right for you |
