Offline | I am very sorry to hear about your car. The good thing is that you are ok. The second good thing is you've learned now and this will probably never happen again. Is the damage bad? You could pay for it youself to see if it weighs up against claiming it? |

Offline | Not good news at all. I'm sorry for you, but as Spooky wrote - good thing you're AOK. In the USA once you've notified your insurance company, it's too late to stop it from effecting your rates...sad to say.. I learned that the hard way. I hope it's different for you. Hang in there - it could have been much, much worse. First love: MC CVT Indi Blue/White '04 Past MINI: MC CVT PW/Black '06 Present MINI: MCCa Pure Silver/BLK '09 w/roof rails |

| Tinkering In The Garage | only a small bit of good news i might be able to offer, u might only lose 2 years no claims not your full no claims. Most insurers only take away 2 years per claim unless you are really unlucky this is more than likely the case. Glad your ok. I had some numty hit me in the side 3 weeks ago in our company car park, he hit me quite hard and did 3 grands worth of damage totally his fault but a pain none the less. Ady ![]() |

![]() Some have THICK skins!!!! | very bad luck mate. Had a few minor bumps like this in the past myself and it makes you feel sick to the stomach - and I have always driven old bangers let alone a 2 month old Cooper S. Just one question. If you had 4 years no claims why didnt you protect them? You can have three accidents in 3 years without loosing them then. Hope you get it all sorted soon. Paul ![]() |

| MINI2 Resident Doctor!! | i did wonder whether now i have told my insurance company about the bump whether i could still arrange to pay for the damages with out involving them...surly they would prefer this rather than paperwork and payout to fix the car. i would pay for mine but i rekon i will have to pay for the other car too!! still don't think it was really ALL my fault but the insurance co rekon i can't prove otherwise so tough doo doo! Offline | sorry to hear about it. must be gutting to have your pride and joy smashed up. at worst you should get stripped 3 year NCD and remain on 1 years NCD. i think that u should check your policy. i know with mine i have to report any accidents even if i dont claim of the policy... at least your OK. |
