Offline | okay i thought since it's a holiday here in the u.s. i would post an unusually annoying/strange/funny story...which is totally true 'cause it's about me. here goes...i've wanted a mini since i was...oh...in the 6th grade (saw some classics on an old pbs show). but after years and years going by, i haven't seen one in the u.s. (so my mini love was buried away among facts and figures) now that i'm done with college, i am ready to face life post college with my degree in hand. so i was looking for a nice car to get since i would have to sell my '99 civic ex coupe 'cause i will be needing the money to pay off part of my school loans and help me move across country. i didn't know what kind of car to pick for my post-college (as soon as i find a good job i will be buying), but as i was interning (during the summer)...my brother's friends friends took me to see the new 'italian job' movie and i was reminded of my love for minis. *insert 'awww' sound here...* they had coopers and when i got home late that night i madly dashed to my computer and search the 'net. to my amazement, cooper were invented, and could be bought here in the states! yea! so now my family and friends know i want a cooper (rather desperately since i did apply to practically every contest giving away coopers...he,he,he) and they joke about it. but in my vain attempt to get myself away from coopers ('cause i was getting frustrated seeing people younger than me get coopers, and i can't seem to)...like the annoying pieces of toilet paper stuck to the bottom of a shoe...won't go away. everywhere i look, read, watch, or even dream...a cooper is there! ah! one of my favorite book series (i just began) had one of my favorite characters driving a classic mini, surf the 'net...people send me stuff about coopers, go out see people driving coopers, when i sleep my dreams have minis in and out, watch some tv and i actually saw a classic mini, got not one but two cooper brochures from miniusa (i guess by some dumb fluke i got two...and also forgot i asked for one when i placed the order), in talking to people (like family and friends) they bring up the cooper, when shopping i saw a cooper as contest prizes, and for my recent birthday one of my closest friend was going to buy me one of those small red cooper s from the 'italian job' movie from toys r us as i was right there next to her! i tend to just let my mind drift from time to time...and even then coopers pop in. now i just gave up on trying to keep away from coopers, and just go with the flow. now when i get my own...ah, wonderful sweet joy! now if only i can get rid of my frustrations of not finding a job which will not help me get a cooper....ugh. now is this what you call a mini addiction?![]() agent_spacemonkey "smellin' the turkey cooking in the oven, fending off the massive crowd of various family members...trying to keep sane..." ![]() |

Offline | ha,ha,ha...yeah...i can't wait to get my own! i've been building and rebuilding mine on the miniusa website. now i've got my friend and her mother and sister hooked. i forgot to add that on my birthday i saw a cooper, and when i was talking to my mom about it...i was grabbing a random stack of old newspapers for my doggie (we are potty training him) only to see a liquid yellow cooper with driving lights and black roof on the back! ah! it is so insane! yesterday my family celebrated turkey day and my birthday and they gave me money for presents...i am hoping soon i would have money to not only make a down payment, but make a couple of payments... now i'm gonna enjoy some leftover turkey... thanks for the comments!agent_spacemonkey "my wonderful nephew is only recently turned 2, and went 'vroom-vroom' with his toy cars...he pointed to me and said 'car'...oh if only i had my own cooper...*sigh*" ![]() |

Offline | Dear agent_spacemonkey - do NOT test drive a MINI until you have the cold hard cash, or close enough, to buy it. Hang in there - your time will come and by then they'll be perfect. ![]() First love: MC CVT Indi Blue/White '04 Past MINI: MC CVT PW/Black '06 Present MINI: MCa Clubman BRG/BLK '08 |
