| heterochromic & loving it | Hmmm, apparently the phrase "Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges!", which is a line from a movie, is a bit more well known on this side of the Atlantic. As soon as I saw a thread called "my new badges", that line was the first thing that popped into my head. Actually, I'm rather proud of my self-control for waiting until the thread was several pages deep before finally giving in to temptation... -Ricardo |

Offline | Sounds a bit James Cagney "esque" to me zooooom must be from some sort of gangster movie. Not something we Brits with our period costume dramas are overly familiar with. Ah the joys of cross cultural exploration! ![]() The eagle never saved so much time as when he submitted to learn from the crow. |

Offline | Movie Line The movie is Mel Brooks "Blazing Saddles." BTW: Wierd Al Yankovic's terrible (but funny) film "UHF" includes a parody on the line, substituting badgers for badges. |

| heterochromic & loving it | It's originally from an old Bogart flick called "Treasure of the Sierra Madre", and it has been recycled endlessly since then. For a more detailed history (really), check out: www.darryl.com/badges/ -Ricardo (doing his part to spread useless pop culture trivia) |
