| MINI2 Regular | Ok. Let's just say you're about to replace your Cooper S. You've got about £20,000. You don't want to pay much more for insurance and you want similar or better performance. What would you get, new and used..? Nige, Dover. ![]() EB/W Cooper S, leather, 16" x-lites, climate, sunroof, heated seats, MFSW, Alpine CD. Whalen Shifter, Bonnet stripes, tints all round. Normally to be found in the outside lane of the M20. |

Offline | I always promised myself a large turbo model RS Escort Cosworth..... I think good ones that haven't been crashed/stolen/thrashed/abused would be a good second hand investment now..... unlikely to ever lose any more money if kept pristine... |

Offline | At the current $ exchange rate, 20,000 pounds is almost $40,000. I'd take that 40K and get on the list for a US Spec Lotus Elise. 1.8ltr, 187HP, weighs 1965lbs. Reliable Toyota power, 0-60 in 4.8. if that doesn't make your mouth water... I'm salivating all over my keyboard just thinking about it! Tom 02 EB/B MCS |

Offline | Hear Hear..... if it was more pratical (ie, more comfortable) I would probly get one in a second (and if I had the money). And one sharp looking car I might add.... | AWOL | I've been thinking this for a while myself.... I know insurance would be more expensive, but i'd be heading down the M3 Evo convertible (96/97/98) Porsche Boxster (96), I even saw an M3 with CSL wide arch kit 360bhp hartge upgrade, 20k miles, etc etc for £20k... New I guess an RX8... would love a Chrysler Crossfire (on top gear next week), but they are £26k |

Offline | I'd give the Focus RS a try. They are stopping production soon so you would have a rare car there. I've even been considering it myself! You can always sell it next year and buy another "S" if you find it's not your bag! ![]() |

Offline | It would be easy to spec though, what colour shall we have? errrrr, purple blue type maybe? Perhaps we should recommend it to a certain Irish Mod? The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() |
