hello 007, have a great time!

Hubby and I visited the plant this past year, we had so much fun! How are you going to be getting around? I can PM you the info on the hotel we stayed at and some other useful info if you like, tomorrow.

(btw one of the highlights of our time at the plant was a spark that flew over and hit hubby on the head, it was small, but very significant(in his own mind) )

WENZOR007 I have a factory tour booked for 30 people on March 12th 2004. There are places left if you want to come. This is one of the first tours available as they have been suspended due to a line refit.

On the cost they can't give me exact details yet but describe it as a small amount. If you want to come with us please PM me or go to the thread:

I hope they're not going to start charging a nominal fee. Previously it's always been technically free, but they do like you to donate to their chosen charity instead of paying an entrance fee.

Hi Wenzor007.

I work at the BMW Mini Plant Oxford so if you do need any information on who to e-mail, who to speak to or phone numbers then i can get you this after the new year when i go back to work.

below is a quote from the e-mail they sent me. Not sure if its for the charity or not.

Health and Safety reasons we cannot allow children under the age of 14
to enter the production facilities of our plant. Persons wearing a
pacemaker will not be able to join the group as our robots will turn off
the pacemaker.

for the tour. We do not yet know how much it will be but we will inform

That is a shame, but I guess it's a commercial world and they've found another way to make money from MINI enthusiasts.

We inquired about buying the kewl jackets we wore, they were (I think) orange or some other bright color, and were told there was a possibility a store would open up...soon...in the future?...don't know
