What gadget would you like to see on the next generation mini?

Just thought i would ask everyone what they would like to see on the next generation mini?

There are that many new gadgets coming out at the min with bmw e.g. i-drive, adaptive headlights, steering & suspension.

That i thought just lets pop the question to see what you would like on your mini!!

Personally i would just like something simple like a mp3 head unit as standard, as i think to many gadgets would wreck the mini feel!

Anyway what would you say?

hopefully it'll still have a steering wheel.

seriously though, i'd like to see air con as a free option, but i doubt that'll ever happen.

I'd love a HUD.
I've been waiting all my life for cars to come with them and finally now the 5-series has one.
How cool would that be

I like the adaptive headlights but I'd really like to see a full set of real gauges as standard.
It is a sports car after all. Like a tach with useful increments on it

I'd like more useful cup holders and would love to have headlights that automatically shut off when you turn off the car and a windshield squirter that also automatically turns on the wipers. (If I'm too dumb to know that these last two exist would someone please PM me and put me out of my misery? )

And It would be neat to have either a good storage/arm res (that you could fit CDs in)t that felt as though it was part of the car or a well thoughtout storage area under the dash on the driver's side too..as standard.

First love: MC CVT Indi Blue/White '04
Past MINI: MC CVT PW/Black '06
Present MINI: MCCa Pure Silver/BLK '09 w/roof rails

I know this gets made fun of in various places - but Bluetooth.

Its just so simple to do. Leave phone in pocket, have it automatically work with car.

Leave iPod (of course it'd require a bluetooth iPod but whatever) in pocket, it streams audio and is controlled by the radio.

Its not like either of these are really difficult to do either...

Beyond that - how about that new fangled-always been there-half leather in the US? I have yet to see a good reason its not offered here.

Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.

Hold on.... someone saying that when you squirt your Windscreen, it doesn't auto wipe them?

If this is true, is it also tru if you have the visibility pack? Not got my Mini yet due in 3 weeks but would love these questions answering.

Cheers.

I'm sure it does swipe. Like most cars a light pull of the stalk produces a squirt only, then a harder pull sets the wipers going.
I'll experiment on the way home

Ontheroadagain, the lights do turn off when you switch off the engine. If you have "follow me home" set-up they'll turn off after about 30 secs

I think that the MINI would be a great candidate for Electric or Hybrid Power. It would be awesome to have the MINI-E or the MINI-H available. As much as I love the sound of the supercharged engine at 6K RPM, having a totally silent MINI would be just as cool, dontcha think?

Idiot Lights showing Gear Selection mounted within Tacho Housing.
There`s been many times when I`m not sure if in 4th or 6th & similarly 3rd or 5th.
And its just SO Embarrasing when trying to shoot off from the Lights in 3rd

How about optional automatic seat position "memory" with two driver settings. Just to save my knee when I forget Abi was driving?

seconded on the seat memory plus dual climate control so you can have separate settings for driver & passenger (like the alfa 147).

also that mobile phone operated pre-heating thing that was advertised but never materialised, & at an affordable price
