Offline | '04 North American Auto Show pictures I just got back from the 2004 North American Auto how in Detroit. I have posted over 120 photos from the show on my website in the photo gallery. Here's a link to my site. http://www.prioritydesigns.com/sven/...dofwheels.html Not much new at the MINI booth, but I did spot a few minor details I don't think a have seen mentioned before. They had a gold Cooper at the show with the optional 17" BBS wheels in a new dark anthracite color. Also there was a yellow Cooper with black bumperettes on the front instead of the chrome. It also looks like MINI will offer their own mirror covers and stainless steel grill inserts. The mirror covers I saw had the checkered flag pattern. The graphics looked like they are molded into the cover because it was not paint or vinyl. The stainless steel grill insert looks like they made a custom die for the perforated pattern and looked like a much nicer quality item than the aftermarket ones I've seen. Also there was a indi-blue Cooper there with an all-new colored light gray interior including the carpet. The Cabriolet was not on display nor is it in the press-kit and new brochueres. |

Offline | Unfortunately, I didn't notice the grill until my second trip back to the booth and by then the battery had run done. I forgot to mention my accounter with Frank Stephenson, designer of the MINI. He was one of the speakers at the Auto Week design conference. Since I knew he was going to be there ahead of time, I unbolted my driver's side sun visor and took it with me to the show. I was able to track him down during a break in the conference and he graciously autographed the visor for me. |
