Mini said that my car will be delivered to the dealership on Jan 19th. Can you drive the car away on the same day (with insurance cover-note), or do you have to wait? I say this after seeing various pieces of various threads where it was stated that the dealer had the peoples cars, but they could not collect them yet . Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

generally the dealer needs time to prep the car before you are able to pick it up, how long that takes depends whether you have dealer installs that have to be done, how many cars they receive that day and other variables. You'll have to ask your saleperson when the soonest you can pick it up is.

Realistically if the car comes in on time you will be looking at a few days... hassle them to do it quicker. i did and i got it the day after mine came in

Ring your dealer, tell them the grimace on your face from waiting is hurting so much that you would really like them to hurry up and get yor car ready so it will turn into a big grin instead - and allow at least a couple of days. You can help though - get all your paperwork sorted now, insurance etc so they only have to PDI it, add any dealer fits and order the flowers and bubbly

Depends on how much work they have on, if the BMW big profit customers from next door are slack on the day yours arrives then they 'COULD' do it within hours. Suggest you put some pressure on, after all you are the customer.
