MINI One CVT vs Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec Auto

I have a new MINI One CVT and I love it!

On my recommendation my dad has just bought a Focus Zetec Auto, a great car but I thought you might be interested in the comparisons.....

Same power/weight ratio (roughly)... indepedent rear suspension.... the Focus is supposed to be a really good handling small car....

HANDLING

No comparison.... the MINI handles far better much more like a go cart!

RIDE

MINI is much firmer but has much better body control and far fewer rattles.... just the odd creak when the car is cold inside.

NOISE

Less engine and tranny noise in the MINI. The CVT is far far smoother apart from the slight jerkiness at walking pace... which is easily contolled by throttle modulation.

The MINI has probably a little more road noise and wind noise but is more refined at low speed.... ie town driving which is where both cars spend much of their time.

SPACE

MINI is just as practical in front and the boot ain't that much smaller.... just the rear room to worry about

DEPRECIATION

We all know the answer to that one....!

Anyone else driven the two back to back???

Let's see, you're in East London.

Isn't there a track north and west of you that does club days where some same-course times might be taken, or maybe an autocross run with the same driver, ...
