Offline | I got hold of a couple of half leather seats out of a MINI a couple of months ago and I plan on making them into desk chairs - i've got a base now with a flat central mounting point but the fixing points of the seat are in the corners - has anyone got any advice on how to mount this. I think the answer has got to be a flat metal plate as something like wood won't be strong enough as there will be quite a lot of pressure with it being mounted in the middle but fixed to the seat in the corners. How thick do you think the metal should be and what metal to use. Finally, where the hell can you het metal from - i can't find anywhere - I even resorted to going down to the tip to see if there was anything suitable.
