| How many cars before your MINI (20 aged 38!) It doesn't feel like I've been driving for 20 years... and I've had too many cars, the MINI is the most fun of all!! Of course! The Mercedes the fastest and most luxurious, the BMW 3 series the ugliest (I hated that car). The Mk 1 Golfs were good though, as believe it or not was the original Renault 5..... Wonder how long I'll keep this one for??? It suits me maybe because I'm having a mid life cirisis!!! I must get a gallery sorted out when the weather gets better! Renault 5 TS (75) Opel Kadett (80) VW Golf GLS (79) VW Golf GL Mk1 (83) Fiat Uno 60 (86) VW Polo Mk 2 (84) VW Golf GL Mk2 (85) VW Scirocco Mk 2 (84) Auto VW Golf Driver Mk 2 (92) Audi 80 (92) Auto VW Polo 1.4 (95) VW Golf Mk 3 GL (94) Auto VW Golf Mk 4 SE (98) VW Golf Mk 4 GTTDI (01) Mercedes 320 CE (92) Auto Smart Passion (01) Semi-Auto BMW 318ti Compact (02) Skoda Fabia TDi (02) Skoda Octavia L/K TDi (02) Mini One PS CVT The MINI uses too much fuel though.... but I want the CVT in London..... | I couldn't have afforded to insure a MCS at 20!! Focus is a good car though.... only downside is it's a bit too common, and my dad drives one! My first car was the original sports version of the Renault 5, which I suppose is a bit like today's Saxo.... it didn't handle though, but had a real screamer of a 1300 engine.... I remember driving it flat out; it was so low geared that in top at 100 mph the revcounter was redlined at 6000 rpm |

"experienced" auto-wise as many...  1978 Nissan 200SX (aka The Torpedo, in reference only to shape, not speed!) 1980 Mustang (slowest 'stang ever, powder blue, gift from Gramma) 1989 Mazda 626 GT Turbo (a significant boost in speed, and first "new" car!) 1995 BMW 540i (with 6-speed, now we're talkin'!) 1998 BMW 540i (also with 6-speed) 2001 BMW X5 4.4 And coming soon: 2004 MINI Cooper S -- drop in speed, serious boost in FUN!  |

| Quite interesting... the mix of diesel vs petrol!!! I'll re-edit my first post to show the automatics! Don't forget they're so much better in London.... the CVT is SOOOO smooth and responsive... the Smart was interesting as it had a six speed manual with tiptronic full auto function and no left pedal... the clutch was electronically hydralically actuated! |

| 33 and only ever owned three cars. Not had one in almost ten years! First car: Mini (73) New shell, new engine, fat wheels, fat exhaust, rotton underneath... Second car: Mini 30 (89?) Great wee car, even better when fat 12" alloys put on! Long gap... Thrid car: Mini Cooper hopefully arriving within the week! |

Renault 11 GTL Skoda Favorit GLS Skoda Favorit GLX Skoda Felicia GLX Hyundia Lantra Skoda Favorit Estate LS Skoda Favorit Estate Silverline Toyota Avensis (D) Landrover Freelander GS (D) Volvo S40 Citroen Picasso SX (D) Citroen Picasso Exclusive (D) MINI One (D) (D)=Diesel As well as the Puegot, Gilera, Aprilia and Piaggio scooters that i've owned in the same time! Used the Skoda's for business and they took some amount of punishment for not a lot of money! The next car will be a MINI again hopefully with all the options I never picked this time |
