Hi,

I know I haven't got my MCS yet (coming in March) but I'm thinking ahead to the summer and especially because this year is the 45th anniversary of MINI, I was toying with the idea of going along to one of the major MINI gatherings - perhaps MINI45 @ Silverstone.

Now before we go any further I don't want to turn this into an us and them issue

But ...

What I was wondering was, what sort of welcome people have received when going to these sort of events in the past. Being the NEW mini and all and not an "original", did you feel out of place ? Was there enough to keep a NEW mini owner interested i.e. Trade stands dealing in NEW mini accessories/parts.

Also, if was to join one of the main mini clubs, which one accomodates us NEW mini owners more ?

BTW any one else thinking of going to a major MINI event this summer ?

Check out the UK & Ireland Social and Events forum for MINI specific events - lots of runs are planned for the summer.

Try popping along to the British Mini Fair this weekend to get a feel for things.
There is a hall for the new Mini
