Anyone seen the new vauxhall corsa ads on tv, trying to make the Euro Box fun & Exciting
by turning it into Wacky Races. Even has CORSA logo at the end shaped like the car speeding off. Very off-beat, Very mini.

Corsa competes against mini.

Curious add that because the Corsa sells in droves to people like my
parents who are in their seventies. I'll ask my dad if he has seen that
advert but I'll guarentee he'll hate it. Maybe they are trying to sell it to
a younger generation? Anyone in their sixties care to comment?

Not sure if this is MINI copying. Remember the ads from about 2 years back (when the MINI was in it's infancy and had very little on screen advertising) with the corsa's all playing hide and seek? Same theme me thinks

Great ad - not so great product.

Didn't someone write in to Auto Express and complimented on Vauxhall making fun adverts out of a very dull car? (A vauxhall fan perhaps?) That was in relation to the Corsa's playing Hide and seek I think.

I agree that the ad is really good - cheeky and fun.

I think some of MINI's ads are a bit dire - advertising execs shooting too much Charlie and trying too hard.

Aren't Corsas also aimed at the 17-year-old-just-passed-my-test-but-still-at-college-and-therefore-have-no-money generation, as well as pensioners? Being Group 2, I can see what they are trying to do. Still a boring car (and that's not because my ex-girlfriend had one or my mother-in-law to be has one)! And have you noticed how often the rear bulbs blow on Corsas? There must be hundreds of half-lit Corsas knocking around London...!

Exactly what I thought. Just like the ads in the cinemas for Mini.

Unforetunately my brother has a newer Corsa. He traded in his year old corsa for
another corsa! Same engine 1.2 but more "sporty" i.e. white dials,leather steering wheel,etc.

He laughs at the mini ( dfficult to see in rear view mirror as his face gets smaller!!) and couldn't
understand the idea of Mini. I sure the ad will appeal to him and wont be surprised if turns up in a new one just to get a new 04 plate and perhaps a cd changer. I tried last time to get him into a
used Puma without success so I think we wouldn't even think about a Mini.
