Another new MINI owner (soon...)

Hi everyone,

Finally got round to posting this, after a few enjoyable months lurking. Congratulations to Paul and everyone else for making this such a mine of useful information!

Anyway, I ordered my MINI ONE D just before Christmas, should be delivered March 8th. Thought you might like to see the spec as it currently stands:

Pure Silver MINI ONE D
Pepper pack (8 spoke alloys)
Cloth Kaleido-Black
Heated mirrors/washer jets
Sport seats
Manual a/c
Radio Boost
CD Changer
TLC

A few other items I may add to the spec listed below:

Xenons (worth the money?)
Sunroof (any weight penalty with this option?)
Sports suspension (dealer said don't bother on a ONE D, is he right?)

Any advice gratefully received. Thanks for reading and be gentle with me, I'm a newbie!

Adrian

Hi there, glad you're enjoying the site and finding it useful so far.

The spec looks nice so far....

My 2p on the following:

Xenons, yes I think so, but others would argue. I have an S with, my wife Abi has a One without and I do miss them when driving the One.

Sunroof, no penalty really for a day to day car. Bit of weight, the extra cost.. I see no real reason not to get it if you like it!

I would go go for the sports suspension upgrade myself, the One suspension is a little lurchy and soft, but only when you're used to the SS or SS+. Personal preference. Have you driven both?

Welcome to MINI2

I love my Xenons and the sunroof is a must IMO, opens up the whole interior and gives it that roomy feeling

I have the panoramic roof and I never thought I'd like it so much - of course it's not necessary and it's quite expensive, but it's a lovely luxury to have!

Hi guys,

Thanks for the helpful replies, sorry for me being late replying, I was away for the weekend.
Looks like the sunroof goes on the list then!

Can't wait for March, the waiting goes on...

Another vote for the sunroof. I absolutely love it! As GMINI said, it really opens up the car, and it is also helpful to look through at traffic signals when you're at a stop instead of leaning far over your steering wheel to see the light change.

Also, I've let my mom drive me around while I've sat in the rear seat, and the rear passengers get a wonderful view from back there!!
