Offline | New to MINI - Couple of Questions Im looking to buy a new '04 MC in IB/White roof, chilli pack, ASC+T,Visibility pack. Got a couple of questions, looking for alot of help!!! 1) Am I missing something important on my spec? 2) Does the spoiler that comes with Chilli pack have brake light in it? 3) I have a standard sony HU, will it replace the cassette HU as standard? 4) as this is my first ever car is there anything i should specifically ask the dealer? 5) What is the best finance the dealer can offer? APR etc.. (i know thats a bit of a hard one!!) 6) What dealer fitted options are available?? (thinking of hagling the dealer down a bit on these!) 7) Looking to buy at either Boldon (Mill) or Silverlink (Priory), i leave inbetween both in Newcastle, anyone dealt with these before/ what free stuff did they get (or discount!) 8) WHat are the interior options on the chilli pack, i mean can i upgrade from antracite and at what cost, same wiht colours for the seats. I know a lot of you will be sick of posts like this but i really need help. Thanks for any replies. |

| Remember | firstly welcome to MINI2 and well done on choosing the best car to have as your first ![]() 1) a spec is very individual, and according to you tastes and budget. But if you asked me what I could live without on my car, it would have to be the MFSW, its also great for resale value oh and get TLC2) Like Gene said the high level brake light is in the roof, and the spoiler is shaped to expose it. 3)you would be best ask one of the ICE guys for that advice, Mikey might pop along and help you out ![]() 4) hmm, not sure its not as painful as house buying, you should just relax and enjoy the experience of buying a car ![]() 5) buy a magazine like autotrader or auto express, there will be companies in there advertising, take that with you and show them how the APR with other companies, thats what I did ![]() 6) sorry not sure on this one 7) again sorry don't know them but someone will help you out ![]() 8) I am sure the dealer will be more than helpfull to tell you yes or no on this. The only other advice I would say is spend time reading MINI2, start in the news section, read the forums for info, and just enjoy ![]() The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() |

Offline | personally, from reccomendations, id go for priory mini on the silverlink, i've heard thet chuck in free stuff, such as floor mats...maybes even roof decals/stripes if u time the purchase right, ie the month before the plates change, and negotiate with them. dont just accept the price at which they quote straight away. ask for freebies, such as a tank of petrol...cant do any harm asking can it? Deffo get the TLC, 100pound for 5 years of service is bound to be worth it. Ive heard the lowest APR some1 has got from BMW was 3.7%, but he knew the dealer or somthing along those lines. I personally am going to take out a loan with the bank, as higher purchase to me seems like its not you're own car, whilst at least with the loan...say your'e made redundant, you can at least sell the car, and only b left with a very small amount of debt...whilst im not familiar with the higher purchase contracts, you're binded to the 3 years minimum...cant take the car back etc (correct me if im wrong by the way). I'd imagine they would fit new seats after, if you wanted it, but it will be cheaper done at factory level and they are bound to charge quite a bit after sales. As for the spec, it depends on you're budget...the TLC is a definite tho. CD player buisness, id imagine it would be possible to put in a different one, wthout having to fork out for the factory version. Hope this helps a bit. btw, im also from the newcastle area, as are quite a few people on these forums. |
