I had a similar conversation yesterday. Did he say why the policy had been changed? When I spoke to him he said he was going to post here last night, but so far I haven't seen anything. In any case whether this is a case of a dealer responding to customer complaints or perhaps just a misunderstanding over their policy on our part it is nice to see at least one dealer in the Bay Area who is treating their customers with some sense of decency.

You've got a point, but given that East Bay MINI is the only dealer around here that isn't slapping $1000-$3000 worth of extras onto the cars I really can't get upset about $289.

Hello all,

Well I finally have some time to post. We are indeed taking the CD changers off the customer spec cars at East Bay MINI. The only cars that we are putting CD changers in are the demos that we will have on the floor. The VIN etch will still be on the MINIs and I am proud to say that my insurance company did drop my premium. Its good to know that something so simple can protect your car and pay for itself.
A little bit of info about East Bay MINI:
Test drives are from 10-5 Monday thru Saturday and from noon to four on Sunday.
Ordering a Cooper today (4/13/02) has approx. build month of July.
Ordering a Cooper S today (4/13/02) has approx build month of May 03.

Thanks for all the smiles and fun test drives!! I am sure you can all tell how much I love this car personally.
I am getting a May build Cooper.

Indi Blue
Color matching top
Premium Package
Sport Package
Profile black leather
Navigation system
Xenon Headlights
Sport plus suspension.

Sounds perfect to me...After a few mods here and there

Thumbs up WONDERFUL!

That is totally awesome, Jarid! Now, *this* is what I had heard about you and East Bay BMW/MINI, that you are all about customer satisfaction and keeping clients for life. You definitely have me as a future repeating customer, as well as a current MINI buyer.

I'm going to write a letter to MINI USA to tell them what a great dealership you are, and direct any future MINI buyers (and I know plenty of them!) to yourdealership.

Thanks a lot!!

Jarid,
Thanks for clearing that up! I will continue to
recommend potential customers to you & East Bay Mini.
Alot of my friends & coworkers here in SF are asking about the Mini. San Francisco Mini STILL only maintains an "interest" list?!!!

Life is short! Why drive a boring car?!

Indi blue/white Cooper;Sport & Premium packages.

Talking Got It!

I was in Sacramento CA Saturday and dropped by the Mini dealer there and drove out with a new Chili Red/white Mini with sports pack. Seems Niello Mini doesn't use waiting lists, just first come first served. Very close to what I wanted, just didn’t have cruise control. Also ordered a second set of 16” wheels and will be looking for a good deal on auto-x tires.

No longer waiting (Mine wasen't due until August)

Hey Veggievirgo - congrats! Did you get an S or Cooper? How was your experience? I've been telling Jeff at Hank Aaron I'm going to the dealer in Memphis and he's telling me I can get moved up on the list. Sounds shady. Anyway have fun! Don't drive down to Montgomery - I'm still hoping to be the first!

Shpass! Yellow and Black, 17" wheels - GRRR Baby...I love my MINI!
