It's a shame that Mr Bangle has systematically destroyed the classic, and dare I say classy, lines of the BMW range and turned them into some kind of egotistical design exercise. Practically the entire companies design heritage has been destroyed in the space of a couple of years and it's not over yet, with the introduction of the Bangled 3 series, the 1 series and now it would seem the MINI and Roller; I think he's an insider from Mercedes trying to boost their sales.

And don't take my word for it the new 7 loses around 50% of its value in less than a year because people won't buy them.

I’m all for radical design but let the smaller companies handle that and lets have our classic lines back please.

I thought Bangle was simply leaving BMW. This is not good news.

lol - i can just imagine that! i have got to look out for that on the tv.

I personally hated he 7 Series when it first came out but its starting to grow on me. I dont like the new 5 Series though - that to me is a poor design, but maybe once some different wheels and bodykits have come out etc.. it may be transformed.

I do however love the Z4 and the 6 series isnt that bad either.....

I do feel though that Bangle is dangerous and he does have the potential to bugger up every successful model BMW have created....but at least hes being different!

Since there are also rumors that Bangle is about to leave BMW I wouldnīt care much about these articles yet.

look:
http://www.imakenews.com/autospies/e...e000218361.cfm
and...
http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showth...hreadid=175608

But I wouldnīt mind. The 7-series is not great but I like the new 5 and the 6 and I absolutely LOVE the Z4 and the CS1 (1-series pilot study).

Seriously, if Bangle even touches his filthy hand on the mini, I will personally go up to BMW's head quarters and MAKE them get rid of him. Such a horrible, untalented person is destroying the image of one of the best car manufacturers in the world!

i am glad that i already have mine. i think bangle is single-handedly ruining what was once the premier sport-luxury car brand. and to think that he could get his hands on my MINI.

(Frank Stephenson, Chughes)

ok guys, i don't mean to be the fly in the ointment here, but give the poor bloke a break. ok so his designs aren't everyone's cup of tea (to say the least, apparently!), but is there really any need for personal digs? he's not a horrible person, he's very much a human actually.

I heard that Frank Stevenson joined Ferrari after the Mini project and worked on the Enzo. Any truth to that rumor?

I wouldn't worry about the Bangle thing, I am sure neither the MINI or the Rolls will start changing into small and big BMWs. They have their own brand identities.

Frank Stephenson is styling coordinator for Ferrari and Maserati, the first "overall" design chief I believe they've ever had! Not bad.

I will, with any luck, be saying hello to him at Geneva in March, he's a really nice guy actually, as I'm sure those who've met him would agree.

The future is here and its Bangle designed, others are beginning to follow, theres a new Frd thet has room for 8 (eight) sets of Golf clubs in the boot/trunk, but only room for 5 maybe 6 passengers . Anyway if you think the bimmers bums are big, how big must the Fo d ass be?.

Incidentally new MINI development work is being done for BMW at IDG in Italia, hmm where does Frank S work now?. ( Iam a proud owner of a signed sketch of the MINI, I'll take bids of $5000 to start )

I like the Z4 and earlier Z Coupe; neither looked good in pics, but they look great in the flesh. I hope the same is true for 3, 5, 6, 7.

I've got a couple of those too. You think $5000 is about the right price?
