Offline | 7 looks like ass. 5 looks better. 6 aint too shabby. And like someone else mentioned, i hated the z4 at first, but once i started seeing them in person they grew on me. Now i love them. Makes the Z3 look so ugly and dated. But the interior of the Z4 is just too cold, doesn't have the inviting feel that an Audi has. |

Offline | ...someone said "at least he's different" - that's just my point, he's NOT different, he's turned the current line of bimmers into cars that could just as well have acura or chrysler badges on them. sure they're different from their predecessors, but i'm not sure identitylessness was the way to go... happened only yesterday, i was driving past one of those things and thought to myself "there's a new infiniti, ain't it? what model's that then?"... get a little closer and it turns out it's a new 5-series. sad, just very sad. cooper s '05 x brg/white/chrome, cordoba/anthracite/chrome, flik wasp 17x7 x delivered july 26th 2005 cooper '02 replaced x brg/white, R83 white, chrome, cordoba x built june 21st, arrived july 15th on the traviata, delivered july 26th 2002 |

Offline | I think most of what Bangle does is ok actually. The previous model 5 series and 7 series were boring to look at the 3 isn't much better. They had to do something to shake BMW out of its styling apathy. Funny thing is though, although people shout and scream about him ruining BMW cars and saying they will never buy another, the sales figures in the news section of MINI2 suggest otherwise. Maybe in reality people don't care what the cars look like as long as it has BMW on the front and back (Badge snobs?). Another thing - if BMWs are supposed to be driving machines, how come 85% of purchasers never even test drive their car before signing up for it? |

Offline | While I can't say much for the 5 and 6 series cars (don't pay much attention to that kind of thing), the Z4 is a sexy, sexy machine. When I saw one in Florida last year, I just stood and looked at it for a while... '04 MINI Cooper BRG/W, CVT, cold weather package - MINE! ALL MINE!! BWA-HA-HA-HA-HAAAAAA! |

Offline | Not a real fan of the new 7 by Bangle. Heard alot of customers opted for used 7 series cars when they saw the "Bangle bustle" Not sure about the Z4? A lot of lines and sculpting. Not sure about the new 5 either. I AM SURE that Bangle should leave the MINI ALONE!!!!! Let's hope he is smart enough to leave well enough alone. Life is short! Why drive a boring car?! Offline | Miniac - is that your other car??!! I agree, the 3.0 csi was one of the best looking designs of any manufacturer IMO. There was one of those parked at the dealer when I brought by MC in for service recently and everybody was gawking at the classic. Was good to see that good taste is timeless. |

Online | I WISH that 3.0 CSi was mine. They are more expensive to maintain [keep looking good] than a 2002, and they rust worse than the '02 ![]() Attached is a pic of an even cooler CSL |

Offline | BMW needed a design shake-up, but I believe I'll wait awhile before I buy one and hope it settles down into some attractive cars. It's bad when you see all of the sculpting and seams going in different directions and just hope they all get lost in a pleasant overall shape in the flesh. I think the MINI proves that all of the artsy seam-crafting and sharp-edged sculpting isn't necessarily the way to go to make a modern-looking car beautiful. The 7 looks nice now. The 5 is bland. The 6 is bland but swoopy. The Z is schizophrenic. MINImeat B/W MCS |

Offline | In other hot Euro-designer news, reports are surfacing that soon after the Geneva motor show launch of the BMW 1 Series, Chris Bangle will move on after 11 years as BMW design maestro. But rather than leaving, Bangle reportedly will move up a spot to be in charge of design for all of BMW, Rolls-Royce and Mini. If that occurs, someone will be hired to take Bangles spot in BMW design, and many of the rustlings stem directly from the prospect of the choice BMW design post being available. So far, BMW declines comment. From Autoweek.com Guess I got so excited about him leaving BMW, I didn't read the whole story. |
