| MINI2 Irritant | Shell Optimax filled up with shell Optimax yesterday. Loads of people in here bang on about the stuff, so what should I expect, better mpg, better performance - or is it all just hype?? |

Offline | Doesn't immediately feel any different, but try a full tank or two and then swap back to normal unleaded. I guarantee you'll realise you've become addicted to that 4k zoom, feel shortchanged with your normal petrol and be impatient to use it all up so you can refill with Optimax. Honestly. I was a pretty hefty cynic, but there's no going back now. |

| ITS RAINNIN' SIDEWAYS | you should get noticably smoother sounding acceleration through the rev range, allowing you to pull higher revs. i've never measure the mpg before but i've started measuring it in the last couple of weeks so i can get a judgement on optimax versus bp ultimate. ![]() |

| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | Do a search for the MINI2 dyno day. Have a look at the charts for 2 standard S's one on standard unleaded and the other on Optimax. Pretty impressive I think you'll agree. Personally I've used Optimax from day one. I had to use standard unleaded when I was in the Isle of Wight once as they don't do Optimax (must remember a Jerry Can of the stuff when I next go there). It ran like an absolute bag of nails in comparison. Even my g/f commented on how noisy the car became. It really struggled up hills instead of zipping up them as it had done before. It was like suddenley driving a different car. ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |
