Offline | My vote's for the Xbox. Halo is great, but I'm not that much of a FPS addict. My favorite game so far has been Amped. No other snowboarding game comes close to the realism of actually snowboarding, which explains why it's main complaint is being too hard. Sony's controller is better, but that's about the only aspect of the two systems where I give the PS2 the nod. Maybe because it's so close to a PC, the games seem more focused on realism/simulation, less arcade-y. And it has a game with the MINI on it. ![]() |

Offline | Wellllll.... Just so happens I've been doing a little bit of reading around the web on ths in the last few days cos I'm probably going to shell out on a 'lounge' gaming set-up soon. (PC still the daddy overall but limited to 21" monitor and little speaker sound system !) All of the bits'n'bobs I've seen basically states that in terms of technical potential the X-box is basically twice the machine that the PS2 is with the dinky 'cube sitting somwhere in b'twixt. There is no doubting it's a bit dearer and being fairly new we will have the usual delay in games availability - but I would prefer quality rather than quantity anyway. On balance I think I'll be going for the X-box, several reasons - power, potential, proven technology with built-in storage and with the might of mr gates behind it - likely to be well supported by games developers for some time. Offline | further to previous post - gonnandgotone of these X-Box thingies - damned impressive, far better than any console I've played up till now and at least as good as my PC. Just get one - it's worth it! Cooper Chilli, liquid yellow/white roof, Black Panther 1/2 leather, white 17" S spokes, CD Boost, Alarm, TLC |

Offline | Hi All, Have been reading for a while and felt I had to register and give my two cents worth... Xbox is fantastic. Halo has sucked me in. I also have 3 friends with whom I regularly have deathmatches (Team Rally is best - 2 vs 2 with jeeps). I would like a few more games. But must haves so far are Halo, THPS3, Amped, Rallisport (best rally game ever, by a long way). After the first few days, you forget about the wonderful graphics and appreciate the games. The power shows itself as smoothness and instant level loads. I do have a PS2 but it has become redundant except for a few games |
