Offline | computer graphic sandwich? Thanks karmuze - but is that great pic for real??? Still waiting for the Real Mini Van - no wood, rear side windows or rear seats . . . the seats and windows I added later. Sawing through the bodywork was a little bit worrying! I can`t get over that picture . . . . same scale, or is someone having me ON? PS: Number plates are the same size . . . ! ![]() |

Offline | blimey I know, I know - been there, (the van!) done it, nursed it, half rebuilt it, re-sprayed it - but it looks like a spoilt kid`s toy parked there!! At the time I thought I`d done one great big job on it - now it looks so insignificant there, boo hoo!! And, yes Basil, I know (x2) - I`ve posted pics comparing MINI with Mini here before. B****y marvellous picture! And thanks zoooooooooom - mine started off (already second-hand) hand brushed cream with a pink roof, ended up metallic BRG - carried out with one of those cheapo electric sprayer type things!!?? ![]() |

Offline | I used to have an old white 850cc Minivan, owned it for about two years and have more stories than you can shake a stick at. One of many was the time when a friend of mine was sitting in the passenger seat, he sneezed, and a tiny black item was deposited on the windscreen. As we were both too frightened to go near it at the time and due to the nature of things, it hardened. Two years later, I sold the van, complete with black item. I like to think that the small black item is out there somewhere, travelling the highways, going where no black item has gone before. Was a 1, now 1 of 150 in a 40 |

Offline | Funny but disgusting. How could you sell a car in that condition with a clear conscience, knowing there was a Bio-Hazard attached? Nopers---fur real. Perhaps you underestimate the LARGENESS of US SUVs. The Ford Excursion is the largest current SUV [excl. hummer] available in the US. This was the vehicle MINIUSA used to transport the MINI on the roof at venues such as the INDY 500 last year. ![]() Howdy buddy. I love the new LOGO--it fits. I purchased a 15 gal. kitchen trash can from the IKEA catalog, that looks a lot like that, but haven't received it yet photo credits: previous post DavidH from the MM board and current post Lurch likewise. Offline | Re: Re: Anyone here owned a Mini Van?? Yep, not a van but a Mini Traveller. Like a van except for the factory installed rear side windows and rear seat. The current 1275 engine will eat 850's for lunch. ![]() It's currently woodless until it becomes a woody (oh errr.. ) this summer.+ 2002 MINI Cooper S - Dark Silver / White roof, Sport, Premium, Lapis blue leather + 1965 Mini Traveller - Tartan Red / White roof, 1275, Cooper S discs, fully restored/renewed |

Offline | Another cracking picture karmuze........ imagine trying to get the original mini through ADR rules now BruceK !!! By the way Bruce, your mini is presumably an import from the uk with that number plate. So you can presumably drive it on the road with two plates then ? ![]() |

Offline | Yes it was a RHD private import, but that was back in 1966! The UK plate is not original to the car but the local police don't seem to mind two plates - I'm not sure they even recognize the black and silver one as a plate as they are used to seeing the 'normal' shaped ones with a state or province stamped onto them. In any case the sight of something as small and rare as a Mini seems to blind them to thinking of silly regulations. ![]() + 2002 MINI Cooper S - Dark Silver / White roof, Sport, Premium, Lapis blue leather + 1965 Mini Traveller - Tartan Red / White roof, 1275, Cooper S discs, fully restored/renewed |

Offline | I had a minivan in the early 70's - purple with a gold roof. Went well but kept burning out valves. One quick tale to tell: Lost the windscreen travelling back home from work one day but by coincidence I wanted to get some timber. So rather than cut it down or stick it out the back doors, I put it in the van with a few feet sticking out of the windscreen. Got quite a few looks. ![]() The beast has landed |

Offline | don`t stop me and buy one . . . Thanks for all the excellent stuff posted here . . almost the first thing I did to my old Van was to paint out the pink roof with spray-can grey primer. Didn`t want to be involved in some kind of Ice Cream Wars!! ![]() |

Offline | Jakx, if you owned a Mini van then you know how big (small) they are. So, why did you think the picture of the Mini estate earlier in this thread might be a trick? Memory getting a bit foggy? Or astounded at Toyota SUV sizes?Since nobody has actually posted a Mini van picture yet, here's what Jakx has been waiting to see: + 2002 MINI Cooper S - Dark Silver / White roof, Sport, Premium, Lapis blue leather + 1965 Mini Traveller - Tartan Red / White roof, 1275, Cooper S discs, fully restored/renewed |

Offline | Mini Van sandwiched/but don`t knock it Nothing wrong with the memory Bruce - just didn`t seem feasible, the steering wheel seemed so tiny in relationship - I know it`s real, it was seeing it sandwiched there. Four of us, sometimes more, used to travel all over the place in that titchy Mini Van - got side-swiped on the M1 Motorway once, early in the morning, by a tired and dozing French woman driver, her mother-in-law and family. She stopped on the hard shoulder to try and say sorry - but she was so attractive I almost blamed myself . . at the time my wife was not best pleased because I had leapt out of the car ready to do battle!!?? Even without the wood (I never liked that!) yours is way too sophisticated Bruce! Do you ever have to knock the under-the-floor fuel-pump occasionally (to keep it going) or does it have the new improved late English (post-Tudor?) system? ![]() PS: Thanks for the pic Bruce - mine didn`t have the plasti-chrome trim, or coachline, but did sport (added) aluminium sliding rear side windows - duly inspected by HM Customs & Excise on completion for Taxation purposes ie - no longer a Van which, when new, attracted a lower Tax! Due to it`s age I got away with not having to pay anything extra for it`s conversion into a "car". Last edited by Jakx : Mar 20th, 2002 at 07:59 PM. |
