Stolen Number Plates

I went out to the MINI this morning to find that some caring person must have taken a liking to my number plates and very thoughtfully thought that I may need to clean underneath them so they removed the rear plate (and took it ).

This is the second time that some drongo has taken a number plate It is so annoying that these idiots do these things and get away with it.

Oh well, I guess that will teach me to keep putting the cover on it.

It will prob be used to Clone a MINI and commit criminal activity. I suggest you mention it to your local Police.

unfortunately, if you think something is cool, someone else will. having looked into your gallery, it is a cool plate, so the less desirable element will be drawn to it.

i would resist the temptation to secure it even more firmly with extra screws, etc,as they'll probably end up scratching your car getting it off again (let's hope they don't even try again)

Probably not interceptor, it is more likely a drunken souveniring fan of the smurfs. (Which is the reason that although my car has been named after cookie monster from sesame street, I didn't bother getting plates that said so).

The other crappy thing about it is the RTA has just put their fees up by massive proportions, so replacing it will cost a packet.

Sorry to hear about it. The thought of someone messing with my pride and joy makes me feel sick. Hope you can get the plate replaced swiftly.

I tend to agree that it was probably a drunken idiot, unfortunately there are a lot of them around where I live.

Luckily replacing it should not cost too much as i had a spare rear plate from the previous time when I had to replace the front plate. But I don't think I will get it replaced next time if it happens again, it will go back to normal plates

Mighty Imp, I had already thought of trying to secure it more but decided that they would probably cause more damage trying to get it off as you point out. Luckily this time they did not actually damage the bodywork.
